OK, it is now officially clear that Frank Miller is insane. No matter what side you are on in this argument, you have to agree that the man complete misses the point. The world isn't black and white, Miller. Stop calling anyone who disagrees with you an American-hating anarchist.

You see, I used to be an awkward nerd just like you, then I became Electro.
Go back to your mommas' basements and play with your Lords Of Warcraft.

I don't think I should've laughed, but I did.

Gunpla is amazing!
Why should I care about Frank Miller, an asshole comic book author, for his opinion on politics?

4 johnnyfog, Sun, 13th Nov '11 11:38:39 PM from NYC Relationship Status: They can't hide forever. We've got satellites.
Mornin'.
How dare he have an opinion.

Anyway, this cuts too close to the locked OWS thread.
What I lacks in brains I make for in…um…I make up for in…in…um…gummy bears. Yeah, that's the ticket.
If there was any doubt in my mind that Frank Miller is an idiot, it has been dispelled now. That being said, is there anything to discuss here?
And better than thy stroke; why swellest thou then?

I don't care if he has an opinion. I just dont see why I should give even a pittance of a fuck.

So if you don't care, why go about this thread proclaiming your lack of care?

Your army sucks.
Frank Miller's been steadily going down the rabbit hole for years now. None of this is surprising, hilarious, but not surprising.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!
This tweet can't be really from Frank Miller. There's no mention of whores.

America is at war, apparently. Against a ruthless enemy, no less. So it's okay for banks to arse-rape you at every turn. Hurrah!

Oh, and 300 was shit.

I am increasingly struggling to reconcile The Dark Knight Returns with what Frank Miller has become.
Typhoid and swans - it all comes from the same place.

Islamism isn't really much of an Occupy issue one way or the other, Frank...

(Well, aside from your odd Islamist who hopped on board because they think it's about Generic Anger. But they're not in charge of the prevailing message by a long shot.)
Hail Martin Septim!

Oh, hey, Holy Terror finally came out. And (according to the reviews I've seen) it pretty much says all Muslims are Arab terrorists, and Frank justified his blanket racism towards them by saying him comic is supposed to offend and be a work of propaganda. I'm disappointed, and I'm not going to bother reading it after all.

it sounds like he's doing the same thing with the Occupy protests. They're all evil, hate America, are losers, and they're all the same. He sounds like he'd love nothing less than the US Military to club them all unconscious and spank them in front of their mommas, and he'll likely be drawing something along those lines very soon.

Gotta trope, dood!
Well, he's certainly a fuckwit, but I can at least understand where he's coming from in the first and last paragraphs. His opinion on (what..) the members of the Occupy Movement (...are frequently portrayed as by the media) isn't entirely dissimilar to a few members on this very forum. The difference being, while they managed to express why they felt the movement is just a bunch of pissed off 18-25 year old brats, he just said they are with no particular reason.

The main problem is his statements on Islam and the War On Terror, painting all Muslims with the same brush. Even that, however, isn't entirely dissimilar to what a lot of Republicans and Conservative Democrats have said and done in the past 8-10 years. It's just really stupid.
They lost me. Forgot me. Made you from parts of me. If you're the One, my father's son, what am I supposed to be?
If there was any doubt in my mind that Frank Miller is an idiot, it has been dispelled now.
I'm more worried about him claiming that Iraq attacked America, as that was a context in which he got his facts wrong. The linked blog entry is more so a collection of questionable opinions.

When I first read about this on the website io9, one of the commentators made a good point. It's sort of odd for a guy who writes comicbooks to attack people for being nerds. Know that wasn't the main thrust of it, but that detail stands out.

Also, I kind of feel like if there was any doubt that Three Hundred was intended as an anti-Muslim "clash of the civilizations" tract, his more recent comments and work kind of dispelled it.

Goscinny, Gaiman, Urasawa, Moore, Spiegelman... I'm going to say yes.
