That's a good way of summing it up.
I never liked Alucard's ability to just randomly win every fight he's in. And unlike One Punch Man, it's never a joke. I try to avoid any anime or anything really where the MC has the power to just dominate his opposition with no real tension because it feels like some pathetic power fantasy. With Hellsing though, I'm drawn to it because I love the premise and most of the world Hirano created. Aside from all the edge, it's rather enjoyable.
On to the episode. The opening dig at the Sonic fanbase felt really out of place but overall the episode was nice, it was cool to see Alucard again, even though it felt kinda cheap. I was worried about how they would handle the murder/rape sequence but I think it worked out pretty well. And really, I can't fault them for being more serious because we all know most of the humor came from Alucard and without him the series just doesn't work outside of gags. These delays are the worst though, once a year, around Halloween and they can't even keep to that schedule. I'd rather they pump out the last 2 episodes relatively quickly since there's really no point in pretending HUA is a Halloween special anymore.
Find the Light in the Dark...I don't know what you mean by "randomly" but, okay.
So, favorite joke so far?
What I mean is that Alucard was losing utterly to Anderson, but somehow his second wind made him so much stronger and accurate. It was as if Anderson didn't improve at all. It just didn't make sense.
Favorite joke is probably the the Jesus statue in Rio.
Find the Light in the DarkI don't think that's a particularly accurate assessment of the situation, actually. Even if it is, saying all or even most of his fights are like that is just false.
But, this isn't the general Hellsing thread.

That's not what happened at all.
When Alucard was fighting Monster of God Anderson, he underwent a bit of a BSOD. His greatest rival since Abraham van Helsing had just turned himself into a monster in order to kill him and Alucard believes that only humans can kill monsters (or, at the very least, only humans should kill him). Alucard had thought that he finally had a chance at the death he desired but it was taken away from him. When Anderson stabbed him and almost killed him, Alucard was about to just give up when Seras' shouts managed to snap him out of his BDOS and focus on killing the monster before him.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!YMMV, but it seems that the Mook Horror Show that is Alucard is the appeal for some.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Willing Helm's scream as a bit of subtle humor.
I saw that. Twas neat.
Moar Hellsing?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?It was posted before the latest episode was actually.
Oh, didn't see that.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I mean, the OVA only has like. 3 episodes left.
But they are the battle-heavy ones...
Hellsing has a damn fine finale once Alucard makes his deboat.
The final few battles sure. The finale itself, the epilogue I mean. I'd challenge that notion.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!So I still can't decide whether I want Girlycard to still be voiced by Taka or not.
Like, they don't have to do things the way the OVA did.

Alucard's voice didn't change in the show proper so I don't want it to change here.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!God I didn't before but now I really do. That's a hell of an image.
Oh really when?I mean. An idea I like is having Taka's sister do it in an impression of him.
Like, Seras and Integra have done neat impressions of his Alucard performance and speaking style, and. It'd be different.

When did Integra take on Alucard's speech pattern?
(V)(;,,;)(V)She was making fun of him.
Was this in the Abridged? I need to rewatch the series again.

Alucard's power is as essential to the plot of Hellsing as Saitama's is to One Punch Man's parodic joke about how The Good Guys Always Win. I don't dislike either, but it isn't hard to understand why someone wouldn't like the former.
