Needs an image: Sinister Silhouettes

I like this trope. I use it frequently. And, while I'm really not trying to toot my own horn too much, I feel like this is a pretty good example. Full disclosure: it's concept art for Remus, I drew it last night before I knew this trope existed, and it's better quality than any of the linked images on the page.

I think it's pretty obvious they are intended to be silhouettes, but I like the suggestion.

Agreeing with the suggestion. The ones from Haruhi Chan don't look sinister at all.

It's worth noting that that's just a concept sketch - the real version will make it into Remus on the page that goes up in about 5 or 6 weeks.

The OP's suggestion works well enough for me.

I will straight up state this: I fucking loath using the word "run" as the caption, in any circumstance.

I'm more than open to suggestions. What about "You should be running"? Or the same, minus the potholes?

Yeah those need to die.

I don't care for anything with potholes either.

We could always go the 'lame joke' route: Hey, at least he has nice teeth. Or something along those lines, at least.

There's a number of tropes about intimidation and fear and what not. All of them seem to wind up with some character yelling and then the caption "run". That's just irritating. We nuked Most Triumphant Example and "shows us how it's done!", "run" is next on my list.

I like the Nice Teeth one.

It doesn't exactly fit the trope, but the example that comes to my mind is the Kindaichi Case Files' first use of this trope, in the story entitled "Smoke and Mirrors" in America; the killer (as a silhouette) behind his first victim, about to strangle her. No scanner, so can't show, but it was a pretty creepy layout.

Just a thought. *shrug*

Haven't found the panel online, unfortunately. Which is a shame, because it's pretty dramatic.

Do you have it as a hard copy? If so, which volume/chapter/page?

Volume 4, last "splash page" (to use the American term) of chapter... three? I think? It was a very early one. It was the first murder in the story.
