Anyone else watch this show? I watched one or two of the season one episodes, found it entertaining, but then didn't continue to keep up with it. Recently I've rediscovered it on Hulu and watched the last 5 episodes of season 3.

Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it yet: They blew up the Warehouse! And killed H. G. Wells! And if H. G. had only thought to put the force field around the bomb, and not her friends, it could have been easily avoided!

Yeah this is the third thread for this.

A search only finds an It Just Awes Me thread. Was there an active thread for general discussion of the show?

The IJAM thread was pretty much the active thread for it. It was relatively active toward the end of season 2 and beginning of season 3.

People here probably already know this, but there was another Christmas special a few weeks ago. I'm mentioning it because last year some people were blindsided by it.

I'm currently catching up, watching the finale. Surprised no flight attendant took away the Farnsworth on the plane.

Triple post! Link to the IJAM thread! Realization upon rereading that this thread had even less discussion in it before dying than I thought!

I love WH 13. I saw most of the first season, and the first few episodes of both the second and third seasons as they aired. This week I decided to power through the whole series on Netflix (drawn in by the power of Les Yay), and I'm currently a little over halfway through the third season.

I have to say, I'm enjoying it much more than I did before. It was always amusing, but the well developed story arcs and ContinuityNods that come with watching every episode in order are extremely gratifying.

WH 13 les yay? I don't recall this.

Weird thing about the Christmas episode. On top of a lot of other things that only accidentally remind me of what went down in the finale, one of the season 3 villain's most prominent tools is DeMille's Riding Crop, and in this year's Christmas special, Spoiler Mc Badguy casually whips it out like it ain't no thing.

I comment on this mostly because the two stories aren't related so you'd expect a little more than a casual "oh, it's DeMille's Riding Crop!", even though everyone involved in the scene are familiar with it, but also because in bringing it up I realized it may be a bit of a plot hole considering the circumstances that bring the riding crop to the two people who use it.

There are various ways of looking at the riding crop, but the two I like the most are:

A)Spoiler McBadguy is just better at finding artifacts and stopping "teh evilz"...

B)Season 2's Baddy(the second biggest change due to the incident) is the only reason the Riding Crop ended up in the hands of season 3's Big Bad... Because Macpherson probably had it stashed away before his untimely death at the hands of HG, and Sykes probably found that stash...

I think it's B, myself... But I like the implications of A...

I was really wanting the Christmas special to be more of a Bizarro Universe than an It's A Wonderful Life, because I would have loved to see a good Spoiler McBadguy and an evil Artie.

On the one hand, I like long-reaching plots, but on the other, I'm getting a little weary of each season's baddie building out on the last. The first one let the second one out of the Bronzer, the second was integral to the third one's plot.

That said, at least season 3 baddy was, until the penultimate episode, completely unrelated to everything that went before.

The les yay in question is every scene where H.G. and Myka interact with one another.

Also, this may be a weird thing to notice or care about, but I really appreciate how well the product placement is integrated. It seems much less awkward and obnoxious than on other shows, although Claudia listing all the special features of the Beautiful Prius was pushing it.

I didn't see any les yay there.

On the other hand, I haven't noticed the product placement, except at the time I was probably a bit jarred by the Prius.

Well, as a combination lady gay + fankid, my les yay goggles don't really ever come off. It is true that, since women aren't often shown forming close relationships with each other, almost every instance of good ladyfriends whose relationship isn't competitive or catty will attract the femslash shippers. But the actors intentionally played it up, so it's not like this one is entirely imagined.

The Prius thing was jarring, but I liked how they showed the car being hit and dented by the magic football, not only avoiding the clumsy product close-up (which is always particularly awkward with cars) but establishing the parallel between Jinks's introduction to the warehouse and Pete and Myka's in the pilot. The only other product that was obvious to me was Myka's season 1 love of Twizzlers.

The lesyay being amped up by the fact that HG is explicitly bi, if not often depicted as such.

I like their relationship a lot, particularly since the show could actually go there, if they wanted to. But I'm really happy with it the way it is.

So, enough time has passed that Syfy has deigned to allow season 4 to be streamed online by the moochers who would rather watch it when they want with slightly less ads than pay a ton of money on cable past its first four episodes. I just got around to seeing the premiere (because it was going to disappear on Tuesday), and now I'm excited for the season.

Except it's seven episodes longer than past seasons. I hate American-length seasons. They're marathons.

So.

Artie is cured (maybe) but the Sweating Plague was unleashed on the entire world...including Pete, Myka and Artie. And presumably Claudia and Steve as well.

Downer Ending?

What ending? They still have like half a season to resolve this in.

Although we apparently have to wait until April.

Where are the season 4 episodes available? Hulu? Netflix only has through season 3, and I'm 2 episodes from the end. I'd rather not have to wait for Syfy to marathon it before they start the rest of season 4, since that's supposed to be March or something.

Actually I am a rocket wizard.

It won't be on Netflix til after the season is released on DVD. You could try Amazon Instant Video, but I think Hulu Plus definitely has it.

[up][up]I waited at least seven months for the Syfy channel to air reruns of season three, because I saw 1/2 on Netflix, and about a week after that marathon*

they were on Netflix Instant. So, for season four, it wouldn't surprise me if they just stuck to their plan and didn't add them to Netflix until summer 2013.

So, it's been confirmed that Season 5 will be the last. And it will only be 6 episodes.
