Anyone like Florence And The Machine here? Her second album, Ceremonials, is coming out November 1st here—and Halloween over on her side of the pond.

This song, sang live, is the one that indicates to me that it's going to be an awesome album (first part of song is not included in this clip):

So, is anyone else excited? I'm so excited, that the thought of it scared me away from the leaked versions.

Oh, my goodness, "Shake It Out" has been my anthem lately. But I just don't know if I want to hear the rest of the album though.

At first, "Shake It Out" was about a 3 out of 5 for me...but the music video won it for me.

You got to admit, the Machine behind Florence is powerful.

UPDATE: Ceremonials had been release in the UK.

But the Internet can't tell me at what hour it will be release in America. Is it California Time, or New York Time? Please let it be the latter.

I had NO idea another album was coming out! I will give it a good try! I really enjoyed "Between Two Lungs"

Another Update:

What happened thirty seconds ago:

-opens iTunes-

-sees only one cent left on account-

-:D-

-"Your preorder had been delivered".

Ceremonials is now out in America! It's downloading onto my computer as I post.

EDIT:

  • "Only If For a Night": Like! A little bare compared to the live version, but the instruments and vocals are still good.
  • "Never Let Me Go": The chorus is good. A little unfocused, but I'll grow into it.
  • "Breaking Down": ...Now Florence's favorite trope had arrived.
  • "Lover to Lover": Bobbing my head. I like this vibe—wait, Florence's singing about Hell again! Wow...
  • "No Light, No Light": The guitar, the drums, the harp, the violin, and the vocals...

Okay, stopping there for now so I can focus on my writing.

EDIT: Okay, my only complaint is that there seems to not be any songs that sound like "Drumming Song" or "Kiss with a Fist", but she established her voice quite well.

The moment I mentioned "Strangeness and Charm" to my science teacher, it burrowed in my ear and became an Earworm for the rest of the school day.

I mean, the clapping, the vocals...all it needs is that violin.

First single since album release: No Light, No Light:

Florence loves her religious imagery.

...And it looks like the comments section had degraded into outright fighting.

At least we know that people are...passionative over the video.

No Light No Light is just a f*cking amazing song. So much passion and energy in it.

Incidentally, Silent Shout is the best album of the last ten years

The instrumentals and the vocals are good also. From the drums in the beginning, the modified sound of a bus, the harp, the rock guitar, the Incredibly Long Note...

It's very similar to "Rabbit Heart" in terms of theme, since both deals with fame.

It also reminds me of Death Note lyrically and a little instrumentally.

"Heartlines" blew me away during the first listen. Also, I love "Strangeness and Charm". The clapping, the controlled released screams...

Oh, one more thing:

The drumwork and the plucking works with Florence's vocals.

I gotta say, this album didn't impress me nearly as much as Lungs. :/ Florence's songs tend to be really samey, but this one had very few standouts apart from the singles. Some of them got really repetitive and bland, despite all the loudness and soul.

That said, Strangeness & Charm is fucking awesome.

Speaking of Lungs, I made a playlist of some of the secondary tracks of the album and the various deluxes. Cosmic Love is an exception, but I love it.

I got this album for my dad for Christmas.

And I had put Lungs on my own Christmas list for two reasons:

  1. So it can be on my iPod.
  2. To repay Florence + The Machine for all of those You Tube views.

This was posted on VEVO.

Once I can figure out how to watch it on my iPhone (this computer doesn't have sound), I'll see if this is the next single.

EDIT: According to comments on You Tube, it's just live.

...And the new single is "Never Let Me Go".

At one point, the video induced a chilling effect from me.

Seven Devils and Shake it Out are my personal favorites. Seven Devils is just so hauntingly beautiful and Shake it Out is catchy.

For now, I'm very fond of Seven Devils. Can't say much about the other songs as I haven't heard them all.

[up] That's pretty funny.

Also, I do like that song. Though it's from Lungs, not Ceremonials.

We don't have a dedicated thread to Florence And The Machine in general, so this is the thread

In other news, "Spectrum" charted at #1 over in the UK, a first for them. Hopefully, it'll also chart high in America.

As much as I love Lungs, I think Ceremonials blows it away. Every single song is amazing. Personally, I love "All This and Heaven Too".

Actress, Fencer, Lover. Well, not a lover, but a guy touched my shoulder once.
