Many people don't take well to crazy melodrama, and in this series it hits VERY early.
I'm personally glad it toned itself down to more reasonable levels after episode 2. It's still is a bit melodramatic, but it's not as unbearable.
Full Battle ModeYeah, I mostly went 'Drama? What drama?' at the conversation that took place here. Melodrama? At least it didn't bog down the action parts of the show one single bit
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Watched episode 7: The ending was nice, Yomi remembers Mato

There's one thing that bugged me about this episode, especially after what STR revealed; why was BRS even around during her time (which would coincide with Saya and Yuu being in middle school)? If she's supposed to be Mato's 'reflection', how is it that she's actually OLDER than her counterpart? Unless Mato's been holding in her issues ever since she was a toddler... Now that's disturbing in itself.
She is Asian... Jokes aside, that bothered me too. However, it does seem possible that the other self stays perpetually a teenager no matter what the age of the original becomes (Look at Black Gold Saw and Saya), so if she felt highly pressured to be a good girl from the beginning, then it's possible that Black Rock Shooter formed even when Mato was young.
Full Battle Mode^Mato mentions to Yuu at the retreat in episode... three, maybe, that BGS looks older than Dead Master and BRS.
It's been fun. Some theories being tossed around are:
- BRS is the title character, no explanation
- The Other Selves have always existed
- BRS was originally Mato's mom's avatar (those cog-eyes)
Well, in the OVA, BRS seemed older than Mato there.

Feel free to look around.
Just from the Yuu's dialogue, it IS alluded that the Otherworld has been around since there's been, well, girls or women who've had emotional issues to bear. That said, it still doesn't explain why BRS was so powerful since from her first appearance (from STR's perspective), as it would coincide to Mato being very VERY young.
As far as it goes, 'Yuu' is proof that other selves don't age. Also; do we know the exact age difference here?
Something that interested me was that flashback STR was much weaker looking than the current 'STR'
Or, that BRS's existence, from someone else's words, "could be the hatred of sadness itself". Or something.
I don't know. I'm still reeling.
We may get those answers in the final episode.
Feel free to look around. It seemed to go back and forth on just how the otherworld is connected to the real one. Separate existences that sometimes get connected, or is one the shadow of the other? The flashbacks support the first, but the reason BRS is trying to kill everything, DM reviving, and everything about Chariot suggest the second
Also; is there an accepted short form of Chariot's name?
More questions than answers!
And not really, no.
She was jokingly referred to as B*SI (Bat*Shit Insane), Wheels, and Hot Wheels for a while, though.
Feel free to look around. My mind is full of screws and screwdrivers right now. Another week to endure. Next up, REMEMBERANCE!
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...On an unrelated note, I'm glad I'm not the one watching over the WMG page for this series, as it's a messy, MESSY place, particularly the OVA/TV series section.
Strength needs to get a longer skirt or some shorts or something.
... That aside, I got all choked up when Yomi remembered Mato. Can't wait for the next episode.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.I suspect the other world is a Place Beyond Time.
So yeah, you can fight with someone who isn't even born yet.
So yeah, Episode 7...nice. Hoping for a Back for the Finale.

Okay, wow. I'm caught up again now, and man, I was not expecting that.
... So the Otherselves never really die? Yuu just chucks them back into the Pit? (What a bitch.)
It's been fun.Is it? The worst I see is that the OVA and TV sections should be split, and most of it is outdated
I think it's more that they can die, but will be revived if their reason for existing is
I see. Well, it's seeming less likely that we'll be getting an explanation about whether or not the Otherworld is a good thing...
It's been fun.Whether or not the Otherworld is a good thing or not seems like an opinion rather than a fact that can be explained. Like, on one hand it gets rid of your bad memories/feelings, but on the other hand it gets rid of good memories associated with the bad ones and general results in a limited experience for the person involved.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Just finished the most recent episode and just let me say that I can't stand Yu. Strength is cool though.

Maybe the first episodes left a bad taste in their mouths?
