What kind of gamer are you?

Here's the chart◊ (some language warning)

Out of this list, I consider myself somewhere between a Rec Gamer and a Pro Gamer. I've been a lifelong gamer, but never really had the sort of dedication to consider myself purely in the latter. Of course, I do have traces of Retro Gamer, but never owned a 90's console (or any console for that matter).

I actually think I am a rec and pro too. I've been a gamer ever since i got the PSX. I don't pirate games however. The only thing restricting me is the MONAY!!!!!

I'd say I'm somewhere between Rec and Pro, with traces of Retro. I'd like to think I embody those types without carrying their negative traits (i.e. "is displeased with how gaming has become more streamlined and easier", "pirates then buys", etc.).

Rec Gamer. Definetly Rec Gamer.

Retroprorec Gamer.

Some combination of the last 3, minus the retro's negative qualities. And I'm not entirely super skilled but moreso than casual yet play for fun before anything else. However it's rare for me to play shooters, I only do it with a bunch of friends or every once in a blue moon with someone else.

Actually, moreso retro/pro.

I think we're all saying "pro" and "rec" gamer because those are the least insulting descriptions.

Yeah... seems that way... maybe an occasional pirate/elitist, which I'm sincerely neither although I'm a PC gamer...

Well, I legitimately think that's what I am, but I doubt anyone would come in here and openly proclaim, "YES. I DOTH BELIEVE I AM AN ELITIST."

I also legitimately think of myself as that, and eyeroll at most of the others.

Eh. Everyone'll say they're Rec gamer, cause it's pretty much the only option that says "I play games yet I have a life".

I am apparently none of them.

The chart reeks of chan-ness so I wouldn't consider it anything more than a joke thing.

I play on my other consoles too much to be an Elitist, yet I don't have enough consoles for it.

Seriously, I'm somewhere around Retro Gamer, I think, mostly due to me always catching on to great games/consoles way too late. Traces of Ronery, because of my related interests. At the risk of sounding like a pretentious douche, I think I may some hints of Pro as well, mostly the "plays pretty much everything".

I am disappoint that "plotfag" isn't in there somewhere, though.

The "Fatlus" tag is kinda strange since it implies a fan of a certain game type is less skilled than others, yet it's named after a publisher that seems to be indisputably Nintendo Hard (I haven't played any Atlus games).

This chart was designed by narrow-minded people. Note how limited the actual GAME examples in the descriptions are =)

That said, I'm a Retro/Pro gamer by this chart's principles, fitting almost all of the descriptions to a T.

This is definitely a joke. The extremes listed are too great.

I'm somewhere between rec/pro and retro.

But some of the types they described do exist, sadly enough.

I wouldn't say I'm a Retro Gamer, but do have some Retro style preferences and may break out Metroid II every now and again.

I also think I'm not quite a Rec Gamer either, but I do play consistently yet balance real life to a degree. My preferred genres are probably a little too few and too niche to be a complete one.

And I wouldn't say I'm a Pro either, but competent enough that I can get through most of the things I play with only some difficulty. I do tend to not talk about how great I am, or that I play video games at all to a lot of people. I also do have a rather Cavalier attitude towards winning and losing.

I will admit, I'm a piratefag. But it's the stuff that the developer wouldn't make any money off of anyways (can't even buy used) or if the dev says he doesn't care. I definitely do have the knowledgeable aspect down though.

Recpro.

The Y-axis measures the universally approved and scientifically sound variable of "faggotry". I somehow question the bias of this scale, as well as any possible results it may produce.

Until recently a piratefag (out of necessity rather than choice), now a rec. Without the having a life part.

I take it "rec" is derived from "recommendation"? Because if so, it suits me even better. I just find some shit I think might be cool and play it.

I also would like to know who could possibly think that TF2 even approaches casual.
