Being a Black Lesbian Poor Woman in Africa... SUCKS

A friend at facebook shared this. It's in spansih though, I ain't got any English translation.

Anyway, I am shocked and appalled. And I don't think it's just a problem in Africa, being a black lesbian in the USA must suck even more than just being a black woman (i.e. on the very bottom of the dating totem pole).

Being a woman in Africa is hard on its own (a fair number of communities in south Africa believe that rape is a fun way to pass the time and the woman must really like it, or that screwing a virgin cures AIDS, or that rape—aw screw it, there's never a wrong reason to rape somebody) and being a lesbian is even worse due to the amount of "corrective" rape. Because, you know, forcing your penis into a lesbian will show her what she's been missing.

Disclaimer: If I need to tell you that this post was being snarky about a very fucked up state of affairs, you have issues.

@ Title. Well, of course. It's hard all over the world to be a poor lesbian nonetheless, it's just incredibly, incredibly, far worse in rural Africa. The urban areas... the less said, the better.

Black women are on the bottom of the American dating totem pole and still have better confidence in their physical attractiveness than any other group of American women? I am really tempted to see causation in that correlation.

You don't know that, and besides I felt like it.

You know, I used to be taught that homosexuality was a choice. A sinner's choice. I've actually heard people in real life more or less give those reasons for stuff, so it's kind of borderline for me but to be sure I just went ahead and said it.
