I'm predicting she......makes a friend this year

It is heartwarming to see her not failing or embarrassing but encouraging herself in this chapter. I think(and hope) she will at least have a casual friend soon.

That was her friend, but they were alienated by her recent transformation.

I tried getting into this, but the MC is just so... sad.

I'm pretty sure that's the point, but I just can't help pitying her.

Just think: She is doomed to live her life trying to make friends in vain to provide her hundreds (thousands?) of readers with a source of entertainment.

I think they're still friends, just not as close as they were before.

And a new chapter is up folks.

It's a new semester and... Tomoko is still out of luck, even if she's been moved out of the "anime protagonist's seat" from the back. You'd think that being surrounded by 3 relatively outgoing people, she'd attempt to socialize right?

Nope.

No place for one's own? That's just sad, Tomoko.

Huh. Rather than the usual 'yet another new low for Tomoko', this chapter was rather tame. Yet somehow also much more sad than any chapter before it.

I want her to succeed so much right now.

Neat chapter, very peaceful yet with a nostalgic feeling in it, also this chapter was "The calm before the storm", I have a bad foreboding for the next chapter... hope it's just me.

New chapter is up. Tomoko still hasn't learned that lying to make herself look better never ends well for her. Looks like the school festival chapters will involve some sort of Fawlty Towers Plot.

Also, that looked like a really nasty cut. Ouch.

Except for that nasty cut, I think it was a rather normal and calm chapter. Also her friend shows up next chapter in the school festival... Let's see how that turns out.

Chapter 21 is up, overall another rather peaceful chapter. Tomoko's little lie from the previous chapter somehow didn't eventually result in her public humiliation. And it looks like she has a secret admirer?

Somehow I can't help but think the anime she and Yuu briefly mention in this chapter is Madoka Magica.

Agreed, a rather heartwarming chapter. It's good to have these ones too.

It's kind of nice seeing Tomoko not get in a jam for a change, but I'm afraid that because of this something MORE terrible will happen the next chapter.

The hug by the person in the dog costume kind of came out of nowhere though. Was I right to assume that it was the committee girl in it?

That surprised expression on the committee girl's face gave me the impression that some third person suddenly walked up to her and the person in the suit to ask for it, but I guess we will find out in the near future.

I don't know why but my first thought on the dog costume hug was her brother finally feeling bad for her, after all how can you live with Tomoko for so long and not eventually just be like, "I'm so sorry life hates you." and give her a hug.

Wakamote is not really my business, but there's been an administrative issue lately: anybody thinks this series would better consider a webcomic than manga? Everything on GanGan Online can be both, but I see people arguing which side should works like Wakamote falls into...

The same case can be made for Danshi no Kokousei no Nichijou though (which incidentally is also run on Gan Gan ONLINE). Both series fall under a nebulous category, as the chapters are all released first on the net, then compiled into published tankoubons.

Well, when she actually does think she's being molested (of course she ends up failing at that too) she instantly regrets it.
