Is anyone watching this show? There're already two episodes out and I've found it weird that no one has started a thread about it. I've seen one episode so far, and it's been good. It's been ages since I've seen a good romance josei. It kinda reminds me of Kuragehime, even though they have nothing to do with each other.
This series totally Needs More Love. One of my two favorites this season, along with Tamayura. Good thing it's going to be 25 episodes.

Music reminds me of Cross Game.
Things make people happyThis one came out of nowhere.
Secret CharacterSo what is it about, can anyone PM me a bit of preview?
Cure Candy go here And this is on my things to watch just havent had the time yet. :(
Secret CharacterSo it's romance drama? :/
I'm not sure if it will be a romance story, I think it's more a dramatic slice-of-life, like Hanasaku Iroha but centered around Karuta instead of an inn. Plus Chihaya is awesome, specially as a kid.
Secret CharacterI would be a waste if it isn't: I mean one girl, two guys...
Well, the main character is trying hard to create a Karuta club on her high-school, so she might get to meet one of her childhood friends, so it could lead to romance. But seriously, just watch it, it's awesome.

The manga has romance as a tag, so I'm guessing the anime will have some. I haven't read the manga nor am I planning to anytime soon since I'm guessing the anime will get far ahead than the scanlated chapters. I just feel that there's a love triangle brewing and that the outcome is incredibly obvious.
Too Good For YouJust watched the second episode and holy shit Wataya is a boss. Watching that simple-minded determination he's probably got more hair on his chest than I do. But what the hell, you're allowed to sweep off as many cards as you like as long as the right one just happens to be in the group? This game is total bullshit.
Please be gentle with me.
Things make people happyIf I understand the rules from a Japanese Geocities site you can only touch cards that are in the group as the correct card. If you touch the wrong group you get penalized.
I found the last scene where Arata was practicing to be narmy. What's the point to the practice if he doesn't have the cards? If that's the way he practices no wonder that always flicks the cards too far.
Things make people happyThere's no such thing as too far. As long as the card is off the field it counts.
Toast ConnoisseurToo soon to tell for sure, but this is a potential sleeper hit. Some absurd melodrama, it's like a weird mix of a josei and a sports anime, and it borrows some of the narm of both. I still found it easy enough to look past if I just sit back and enjoy. I'm glad I didn't take a pass on this.
Things make people happyHere's an easier to read version of the rules. Presumably the kids are playing genpei-gassen.
Secret CharacterI have the two currently released episodes and has trouble having time to watch them. Edit: Got to watch it. But me imba card throwing skills again.

Things make people happyI gotta wonder how important card setup is when they have a tendency to change position as they get knocked around.
Taller than ZimHmm, feels like the flashback took a bit too much time, could probably have been done in two eps.

It's a 2 cour anime, we have time for slow pacing.
De gustibus non est disputandum
I don't even feel like the pacing is slow at all, in the sense that it doesn't feel like the show is just dragging on. Episode 3... Awwww.
Things make people happyToday I learned that it's the player receiving the card that gets to control where it goes. Handy.
On a second thought, out of contemporary anime, it isn't so much like Hana Iro, as Ano Hana. I mean, with the the theme of "Fuck reality, I want my innocent childhood back".
De gustibus non est disputandum
Things make people happy^Well, it's a requirement that in any sports show, If the best player is a friend of the protagonist, he will quit before the end and have to be encouraged to join up again. So yeah, something like that was guaranteed to happen, and I'd still feel it's closer to Hana Iro than Ano Hana.
