I'm planning out my novel for NaNo, but I have no intentions of participating in the fanfic contest.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."I'm probably too busy to participate in either. But if I got the time, I'd be far more likely to work on Na No than the fanfic contest. Just sayin'.

'Cross my heart, strike me dead, stick a lobster on my head.'I plan on doing both, Na No Wri Mo planning does not exclude the ability to write a minimum of 2000 other words.
That being said, I am pumped for NaNo, I'm eyeing several ideas for further extrapolation.
I'm totally doing Nano this year and winning this time goddamnit! I have no more excuses. I've finished my grad work, I'm settled in my new job, I don't have a freaky thyroid virus anymore... and I have an idea w/partial outline. THE STARS ARE ALIGNED.
i. hear. a. sound.Sort of, but not really. I've been actually writing a lot more of my gigantic story lately, but I'm not really shooting for any specific date of completion. Besides, it's a bit long for one novel.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.I'm thinking on it, but I need to be feeling it first.
I probably won't, since I still have to deal with school. >.>
I think I will. I won Script Frenzy back in April, and I'm pretty pumped to try completing a novel. I tried NaNo two years ago and stopped within three days, but I'm done with school and I don't have a steady job, so I should have plenty of free time this year. (knock on wood)
Wasn't planning on doing the fanfic contest, though.
Thanks for the all fish!I've got a deal on with myself: I can do it if I can stockpile enough comic pages in the next 3 weeks to carry me through November. (I'm not writing anything for the contest, though.)
Can't. I don't have enough time to devote to it. Too many exams, college applications, and health problems right now.
I'm interested, yeah, but I'm already driving myself insane with volunteer activities and community service stuff on top of school. And by "insane," I mean a BSOD while my body is apparently determined to have a Red Ring Of Death. There's no way.
I have for the past two years, so there's no reason to stop now! And I exceeded my goal both times, so there's no reason not to be optimistic this time!
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaYes. Even if I don't finish, it'll give me a good head start.
Never have, probably never will. The concept of beating myself up to meet a purely artificial deadline I'm not getting paid for doesn't appeal.
Nous restons ici.I'm with Night.
If Na No Wri Mo was for money, my mom might not let me keep it, and she'll probably get mad at me for spending all that time writing instead of studying.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."I'm too much of a perfectionist to write a novel in a month. (I might be too much of a perfectionist to write a novel—I go through an average of six drafts for a short story, and longer works increase the number exponentially.)
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulSame here, but this time I've decided "screw it" and I'm going to dump the entirety of my idea in Na No Wri Mo whether I like it or not.
Forget the tropes until after you're done.I suck at writing, and it took me about a year to write 50k, so I have a really bad combo to do it.
Read my stories! My answer is "Hell yeah, I'm doing Na No Wri Mo". I can definitely do this if I've met the deadline 2 years in a row! I'm still caught between whether to write a prequel or a complete rewrite of my first one though.
I really like the world I created, and I wanna expand on it instead of trying to make a whole new one.
As for the other thing...
"What fanfic contest? D:" If I knew there was gonna be one, I'd totally sign up depending on the prompt.
Even when your hope is gone, move along, move along just to make it throughI'm gonna try. My goal is 75,000 words. 11 chapters, 1 story.
Realistically, I'll be happy just to get the 50K partial draft, but, bleh...
I am now known as Flyboy. With my running record I'll be tickled fancy if I get past 25k.
i. hear. a. sound.Well, I came up with this story on a whim and thought, "huh, this is shorter than what I usually do, so, why not try for Na No Wri Mo?"
Also, Bur is on the Writer's Block forum. That's different.
I am now known as Flyboy.Misuke, it's this fanfic contest. There's still lots of time.
The point of Na No Wri Mo is to separate "writing" from "editing" (which is usually how perfectionists get stuck). In fact, I think December has another event solely for people who are editing what they wrote the month before.
Hey what's up !
I would like to ask of you are participating in the Na No Wri Mo. I ask mainly because I want to know if I should postpone the fanfiction contest until December.
I am also interested in knowing about your interest on the Na No Wri Mo.
