I was making a fake email and decided to just pick two random words. I picked "Lolipop Distortion", misspelled Lolipop, and decided it sounded so much cooler this way.
You know, now that I think about, I have a very weird name.

Underneath the bridge The tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped have all become my petsUsed it on a whim when gaming with friends, then started using it while micspamming in online servers, then used it for throwaway accounts and the like, which, when I first signed up to TV Tropes, I had thought this account to be. Fate would have it otherwise, however, and so I've kept the name. I'm fine with that because I still like Excel Saga.
As most of you already know, it's my name. Duh.
The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.My old name was Krrackknut, and people started calling me "Kraken," so when I felt I needed a change, the choice was obvious.
Don't ask where "Krrackknut" comes from, that story is far too long, horribly unpleasant, and vastly contradictory. Which is to say I'm too embarrassed to talk about it.
My old username was fairiesrus and I felt like making a shorter version of it. This was back when I was nine, so I didn't feel like showing even my first name on the Internet. Somehow Faeiri arose from it and stuck.
It was from a throwaway line from the simpsons but later I've found out that the Wind Fish from Links Awakening was called the Whale of your dreams.

Dutch LesbianSomething kinda random that didn't feel as dumb as "Eater Of Pizza".
whateverDon't you mean the Wind Fish?

Yes I do >.>
Dutch Lesbian"Blixt" is Swedish for "lightning", "sly" is pretty self-explanatory, and "Cat" kind of runs in the family as far as online usernames go, as my mom is known as Wencat and my grandmother as Blackcat (no relation to ours).
As for why these things are together, because screw you, that's why.
But if you want to get creative with interpretations, it can be read as "sly lightning cat".

go ahead and do every stupid thing you can imagineGuess.
"Is fearr Gaeilge briste ná Béarla cliste."Mike K is my actual first name and last initial. I thought it was boring, but then I grew attached to it. Like ekuseruekuseru I thought this was going to be a throwaway account, but on TV Tropes there are no such thing as throwaway accounts.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage. It's named after my cat, lola.

Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.I believe it was the name of a role playing character. I'm not entirely sure, but I use it on every website.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I got mine from my favorite BGM in Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. Yes, it's intentionally misspelled.
Random letters put together that just sounded appealing to me.
The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated.@lola: I think there have been people who misread it as "lol, a cat".
whateverA Tale Of Two Cities was open next to the computer when I was about to make an account, so I flipped to a random page and picked the first word I saw that wasn't something like the/and/a/so/etc.
It's actually served me quite well because it's rare enough not to be taken on most websites, but common enough that it's not super easy to find my other accounts just by looking up "tumbril" on Google.
Tumblr here. It's an old handle of mine from an arcade game site.
People on psn have done that too.

It seems mandatory for me to put this up in every forum I join. Anyway, if you've got a story behind the origin of your username and aren't afraid to share it, post away. (Unless you're one of those people who use their real names. Even then...)
I'll start, since at least two people (you know who you are) have confused me with a Pirate for some unknown reason. Flattering, but sadly untrue for the most part. I've used the handle "Fool's Gold" or some variant thereof for about a decade or so, give or take. Of course, "Pyrite" was chosen for forums which didn't allow punctuation in handles, since I felt it was better than screwing up the apostrophe.
As for why I chose "Fool's Gold"... well, I wrote fanfiction back in the day, and I wanted to convey the idea of something that looked good but was pretty damn worthless. *gets murdered by a mob of irate fanfic writers* Seriously, that probably summed up most of my output as well as my outlook on life at the time.
Well, that was it. Not much of a tale, but I'm pretty sure the rest of you have something better. Feel free to contribute.
