How can I garner more potential tropers

I feel this site needs more love and recognition. How can I convince people to become tropers and join the tv tropes hive mind so it can expand in power?

I would assume you could just link to interesting or relevant articles when discussing things on other forums and blogs.

Dammit, Ace the ninja got me.

Yeah, links. Links get them every time.

I am now known as Flyboy.

Dude, feels like the first time I've managed to do that. I've been ninja'ed lots of times lately.

Well, the ace of spades is generally the highest card in the deck. I was trumped. [lol]

Don't force it on people. You definitely don't want to become "that guy" that brings up TV Tropes all the time. I've met people like that and they're not fun to be around.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -Wanderlustwarrior

Don't gush. Seriously, gushing at someone is one of the most reliable ways to utterly destroy a potential fans interest.

In an unrelated discussion that has a trope that could be relevant, link to it innocuously.

Thats pretty much how I ended up here.

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.

I joined this site because it's based on trivia, which I happened to be adept in, so I thought it's fitting.

Maybe you can have other trivia-inclined persons to give it a shot.

It's obvious that it's TV Tropes. But it's an ideal place for people that are akin to trivia knowledge. Knowing a lot of information beyond normal necessity is what this site attracts.

People complain that whenever I feed them a TV Tropes link they emerge hours later, pale and shaky.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.

Are they saying that's a bad thing? Some of the best things in the world end that way.

I actually think trivia is what we do best. We don't give good literary analysis, but on the whole tropers seem pretty adept at spotting allusions and making links between works.

We're not very good at analysis because we've been actively purging it from the main page and the Analysis page wasn't very well known.

Whatever the reason, it's clearly not the main draw of the site. Nor is media theory the main appeal, although it's what initially attracted me to this place.

I liked it because I could see "this work is similar to this other work in this way" without having to wade through review/opinion bullshit.
