... so, yeah.
Lowest scoring Super Bowl ever. That was a thing.
I know people bitch about the half-time show every year, but there seemed to be a lot more vitriol this year to me. Anyone else notice that?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Personally, I thought it was adequate. Nothing much to say, but also not bad.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"The Half Time show wasn't extreme enough to warrant getting upset about. It was just very blah, save for the kinda cool drone lights.
The game itself was actually historic in retrospect, although not in an exciting way. Super Bowl LII was far more entertaining.
"Did I ever tell you kids about the lowest-scoring Super Bowl of all time? It was February 3rd, 2019..."
To me, the funniest thing is that with all the controversy with officiating, protests etc this honestly is the worst outcome for the powers that be for the NFL to have their showpiece event end up so forgettable.
I managed to get a fair few people into American football this year... At the end of the game (approx. 0330 UK time) I wanted to ring round them all and apologise, saying it's not always like this, honest.
To borrow a phrase from rugby union, this was one for the purists - a somewhat tongue in cheek phrase suggesting that only old gits who get hung up on the minutiae of the game could possibly appreciate it.
I'm pretty sure that it was because apparently Sweet Victory was going to be played to honor Steven Hillenburg, and instead they did a different song. I think that's where the controversy is coming from. Also, I said there was a whole lot of nothing happening before that huge punt happened.
It's been 3000 years…Well, seeing as I'm the resident Masshole on this thread, I sure loved the game.
Boston ended a painful 99-day drought of not winning a championship.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Tbh, I’m not that rustled
Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement today. 9 years, 8 AFC championship appearances with 5 wins, 3 Super Bowl Rings, redefined the TE position with his numbers, and he retired a Champion. What a career.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."George Kittle, the league is now yours 😍
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterAndrew Luck is retiring, per ESPN. That almost immediately sinks the Colts' season.
Not even 30 yet. Wow.
He was the most frequently hit QB in the league for most of his career. The Colts got him at #1 in like 2011, but then never built a proper O-line to protect him. Easy to see why he feels too banged up and mentally exhausted to play anymore.
This was an infamously bad example of their incompetence.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Speaking of incompetence, I'm pretty sure the Texans are drunk. First they traded Clowney for a third round pick, a situational pass rusher, and a guy who was about to get cut, and then they turned around and overpaid for Laremy Tunsil and Kenny Stills. I mean, I'm a Seahawks fan, so I'm not complaining, but I might consider "randomly drug-testing" Bill O'Brien.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Sooo...Antonio Brown acts like a whackjob and gets released from the Raiders, and is a New England Patriot about an hour later.
The one place Pittsburgh did not want him going, so they traded him to the Raiders. The Raiders, who managed to recoup their monetary investment; but got left holding the proverbial bag, while the Patriots get Brown, The Steelers get the Raiders' picks, and Brown gets about how much money he was going to get originally-on a team poised for a championship run, instead of wallowing around the middle of the pack.

What a ride
Man, this gets weirder and weirder
I'd call the Raiders a circus, but that's an insult to the good people at Barnum and Bailey. If the Raiders are a circus, the clowns are alcoholics, the trapeze artist lost his depth perception in a freak accident, the human cannonball landed on the audience, and the only elephants are the pink ones that the clowns see.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.lol
Game 1 day tomorrow so best of luck to our respective teams
The Raiders traded two picks for the patriots to get Antonio brown
What a wild ride
I’m going to the Pittsburgh/patriots game later and I really wish he was allowed to play tonight
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterPatriots/Steelers, final score 33 - 3. And that's without Antonio Brown or Kyle Van Noy playing. On to Miami.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."All right, Week 2 done. Patriots trounce Dolphins 43 - 0. Our streak of away game losses at Miami is over. New York, you're next.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Holy shit that score
Should have been 48-3. Ghost sliced a 48 yard field goal and 2 PA Ts, and Flores should have kicked a field goal and ended the game after that injury to Rosen. The Fins were playing for pride, so avoiding the shutout should have been enough; instead, their QB takes more hits and ends the game with another interception, turning a 40 point blowout into a 43 point shutout with another turnover and another big hit on his first rounder QB who is already injured.

Ghost always has like one or two games each season where he misses a lot. It's why every Pats fan gets super nervous every time he's up because even though he's statistically one of the best ever, you never know if today is the day he whiffs on crucial plays.
But yeah, Flores really wanted that TD, wanted to get something to point to against our D. NE humiliated him and the team hadn't let in a touchdown in the regular or post season since last year's AFCCG.

"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."New holder too-the Pats have a few easier games coming up, so we will see.
Please. You will never forget what you were doing when you saw the longest punt in Super Bowl history.
First MVP punter?
