I have no idea what that image even means. I'm sure it has something to do with Medals of Dishonor, but the only reason I can figure that out is because it's on the page. It needs a better pic desperately. Anything's better than what we have now.

Things of mine keep getting deleted. I curse too much.

From the description, it appears to illustrate the last type of Medal of Dishonor:

The medal itself is just an eyesore, even if the awarder doesn't think so.

The pic's pretty good at demonstrating the "ugly medal" aspect. Another angle we could take is the Golden Raspberry award: 1, 2

Seconding motion.

How about an award where the engraving text states that it's not for something to be proud of?

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Keep Until Better Image Suggested

It represents part of the trope.

There's not even a reason to call Keep Until Better Image Suggested on it, the image works perfectly fine. If you read the page, the trope covers two kind of dishonor: the "I award you this medal for your suckiness" ones, and the actual genuine honors that accidentally look like eyesore, which is the kind covered by the image.

That actually makes this two tropes, as medal for sucking, and the medal looks stupid are functionally different things. But we have to wait for the TRS backlog to clear out.

That doesn't look like an objectively sucky medal. Sure, it's weird and all, but what about it? I certainly didn't get that it was supposed to be dumb looking before I read that explanation on this thread.

Well, it definitely fulfills the eyesore credential. I say keep it.

Eyesore is not the same as dishonor, or even dubious.

Well the listing the trope says and eyesore of a medal would make it an accidental Medal of Dishonor. Going by that, the medal is a eyesore and I'm losing where I liked this picture looking at it again...
