And that has anything to do with what I said, why?

If it's not this, the only thing I can think that you are talking about is the equivalent of throwing a tantrum about air existing.

She was contracting him to make inventions that would change the world for the better, and he is one of the best in his area. She can overlook one little faux pass since she know that the kid is good-hearted.

What is your problem with the scene?

What is there to overlook is what I'm asking. That he finds her cleavage attractive?

That would be like Bruce Wayne showing up to interview a candidate for employment in a suit, tie, and tighty-whiteys and saying, "They're a good kid, so I can forgive that they keep looking below my waist."

That's a non-equivalent and you know this.

Why?

She was wearing a suit at the time, if I recall.

Was her cleavage emphasized in the suit? If so, my point stands. If not, how is it relevant in a discussion about her superhero costume?

Why?

When was the last time a man was measured by his dick when he wasn't naked?
If not, how is it relevant in a discussion about her superhero costume?

Everything. It directly tells the reader "yes, she is hot, get a moving on" while at the same time showing that she is confident enough in herself to be bothered by pervs.

It's storytelling 101.

Just to make Zeal's point more clear: She talks about "tolerating" people staring at her chest, making it clear she doesn't particularly like that attention. But she invites that attention by wearing a costume that has her tits hanging out for people to stare at. She wears something that emphasizes her chest, and then complains when people stare at her chest.

There's a certain hypocrisy present in that. Like people who make a big scene and then whine about everyone looking at them.

making it clear she doesn't particularly like that attention

What? no!

She clearly doesn't care about it. It's just that, clear and cut.

If his clothes are tight enough? Pretty often.

No, it's Hand Waving 101. If her suit did not emphasize her cleavage, then it has nothing to do with her costume, which greatly emphasizes her sexuality. A woman being willing to overlook when a guy stares at her breasts in a suit does not equate to a woman acting upset when the costume clearly designed to draw attention to certain parts of the body works as advertised.

If she doesn't mind the attention, then there is zero reason to bring it up other than to allow male readers to go, "It's okay boys, she can handle it. Ogle all you want!"

[up][up][up] I haven't read any Power Woman. I'm going by Zeal's statements that she's complained in other places about the attention her chest gets. However, I would argue that "tolerating" it suggests not particularly enjoying it.

Yes, in hack's stories she complains.

I'm talking about when she is written by good writers.

Also, Power Woman is only in Kingdom Come. She goes by Power Girl (Peej for short) in the mainline continuity.

Normally, I'd say "tight clothes could just be a fashion choice, not asking for attention", but this is beyond spandex. It isn't even that it was low cut. SHE HAS A GIANT CIRCLE AROUND HER BOOBS. Anyone willingly wearing that needs to lower their standards for social interaction.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

Ah, the fact that she is clearly confortable with her body and isn't fazed by pervs?

Really, the whole point of the discussion was "she doesn't like that people look at her cleavage, what a hypocrit" when in fact, she doesn't care.

The only time fact that she actually gets annoyed is when she is groped in the subway, and she respond by throwing the guy in a brick wall.

[up]Fun fact, she doesn't wear spandex or anything that tight.

Her costume is made by actual cloth. You can even see seam in Amanda's gorgeous artwork.

No, she doesn't care when "good" (meaning a small number) of writers write her, as you said. When "bad" writers (meaning everyone else) writes her, she's all "My Eyes Are Up Here" and "I need to find something to fill my hole."

But "good" writers aren't the point of this discussion.

That was the last time she was in anything before the reboot.

As far as anything is concerned, that's the only version of her that counts for this discussion.

I take issue with the idea that Gray and Polimotti wrote Power Girl poorly, anyway. Her mild irritation with people looking at her chest seems to come more out of a feeling of obligation on their part to address it than any real interest.

And, let's be honest, that power-zapper she gets hit with towards the end being the exact size and shape of her window and getting stuck there is kinda funny.

This ain't about what continuity I want or not.

If it was, I would be bringing out her Golden Age personality, in which she is a Straw Feminist. She was strong female character that doesn't need anyhelp for no men.

Newer books overrides old books whenever something different appears.

[up]Who said that they wrote her poorly? I will personaly fly to their house an slap them across their face.

[up]I was talking about her personality.

In any case, I don't hear anyone complaining about her sidekick, Terra, which had a more revealing costume than PG.

I believe that particular panel/story was written by Geoff Johns, actually (aka "The hole represents my existential angst" guy)
