It's bad when the image extends past the description and into an article.
It's just an overly long image to begin with.

No, that's not actually considered a bad image. It's when long articles are shorter than the image is when the pictures are too long.
Plus the height is for a reason, which is to show the trope, which can't, by definition, properly be shown in a single frame.
