I don't even think Jake Holmes had that song released as a single in the first place.
I mean, it would make a good story about how Led Zeppelin were one of the biggest song thieves in music history (and look, as much as I love the band, Jimmy Page is fucking overrated, a complete douchebag, a plagiarist, an egotist, and possibly a statutory rapist and kidnapper), but that would require a hit in the first place, and Jake Holmes is only known as "that guy Led Zeppelin stole from". Barely anybody has heard his version of the song Dazed and Confused. People know a lot more and have definitely listened to the blues singers Zeppelin stole from. Hell, Spirit, the band that they allegedly took Stairway to Heaven from (they didn't, I've listened to both and they share maybe two or three chords but that's it) had a hit with I've Got a Line On You, more people remember that than they do Jake Holmes's original recording of Dazed and Confused.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I already mentioned it wasn't a hit, but neither were I Believe In A Thing Called Love, It's Raining Men, or Mexican Radio.
Yes, but people have actually heard those songs. Most people have only heard the Led Zeppelin version.
Also, it's kind of pointless to ask these questions if you're gonna ignore everybody's input.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? So, that's a no go. But hey, it makes more since than doing an episode on 4'33 by John Cage.
You know what is a one-hit wonder though:
Nice that he finally does an episode he wants to do.
But if he really wanted to go as far away from 80's New Wave as possible, he'd do a mid-to-late 2000's hit.
He hasnt done any 50s one hit wonders has he? The Big Bopper could be an interesting episode.
The failed followup: *dies*
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Were there any one hit wonders on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 Soundtrack? I ask because he got the idea for Hocked on a Feeling from the first movie.

Alliotta Haynes Jeremiah (Lake Shore Drive), Looking Glass (Brandy), and Silver (Wham-Bam-Shang-A-Lang). Looking Glass would arguably be the most interesting to talk about.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? How about "The Rain" by Oran "Juice" Jones? I think that would make a good thing to talk about on One-Hit Wonderland.
Latest review for Patreon people: "Body Like a Back Road" by Sam Hunt.
I'm looking forward to this.
Jesus Christ, the title alone sounds awful.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? And here it is...egads this is awful.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Those crowd chants are so out of place.
Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.It's probably the slurred live performance, but I exclusively heard the line "driving in my assholes" in the chorus every time until Todd said it's "driving with my eyes closed".
In fairness deer seem easier to hit than cows. Cows tend to come all at once by the side, which is a pain but at least gives you some warning and there tends to be people with you, granted I guess if your eyes are closed. Deer go in pairs or once than the other after an indeterminate part, though the ones here have figured out cross walks, the fawns don't always. I associate curves with inter-city travelling, because I'm from BC anyways. Also it's objectifying obviously.
I'm working on transcribing the "Body Like a Back Road" video for the Channel Awesome wiki.
What music videos appear at 0:28-0:35?
"Closer" by the Chainsmokers and "HUMBLE." by Kendrick Lamar.
I'm a country fan so I enjoyed this episode. He really picked some obscure country videos to show (yes, that Donkey song is as bad as you think).
I still don't hate Body Like a Back Road but I understand his opinion. I'm also glad that Todd likes Big & Rich because their debut album is an all time favorite.
My girlfriend likes this song and it is my personal hell.
Our first not-technically-an-OHW since Wall of Voodoo is on Patreon now
oh boy that "failed follow-up"
"Dazed and Confused" is a song that's well-known among rock fans around the world. But it has never been a hit, not even for Led Zeppelin, not even in the UK. The story of Led Zeppelin plagiarising it from Jake Holmes may make a great OHW story but it still doesn't qualify.
