A good, fair review, but I’m tired of him reviewing “good” Madonna movies. I can’t wait to see him tear into Body of Evidence.

I never would've expected a Glover reference.

Aw, man, but I like that song. It's enjoyable enough for me to listen to, so I can't put my finger on why, but I don't mind the meaningless lyrics too much. That, and dat nostalgia.

Also, "Eiffel 65 blew." I see what he did there.

See, I remember back when the song was new, I was but a wee pup who pretty much didn't outright dislike anything on the radio and had completely unrefined taste in music...yet this song was one of the few I just couldn't stand. I don't hate it now, but I'm probably never gonna say I like it.

And I'm glad that Todd discussed that Play Station song they did, because I remember hearing it a few years back and thinking it was just kinda dumb. (Meanwhile, the You Tube comments were pretty much nothing but console war garbage.)

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

I've never really had an opinion of "Blue" (I was an elementary school kid back when this song was the big thing, I didn't really process the music I consumed back then), but I've never really disliked it. But now that Todd has pointed out how stupid the song actually is...

...Nah, still not enough to actively dislike it. It's just on the lower scale of "meh".

I don't like it much now, but little Elementary school me liked it. I think my only complaint was that I liked red better, I found the sound cool for some reason.

[up] Well, blue is my favorite color, so I suppose that's part of the reason I can get with this song. On top of that, the lyrics aren't very good, but I can't say they're offensively bad, either.

Ehehe, I... I still can't bring myself to dislike this song. It's a little weird for me because I always felt like the shrill, distorted sound of techno and dance songs like this sounded really sad and emotional. So back then, I was convinced that the song was actually really deep in some fashion. Like, I actually thought it was a little beautiful. ... To be fair, I was a German kid. But. Yeah.

Oh no same here, especially since I did the mishear the chorus thing too and got "I believe I will die" but yes I remember thinking there was problem some profound message there somewhere.

I'm just surprised Todd didn't mention the most (in)famous Mondegreen of them all: "If I were green, I would die."

From what I can gather "Blue" one of those pop novelty songs that a lot of younger kids listened to, because, let's face it, the song wouldn't sound out of place in a children's show. However, despite being a kid at the time I mostly managed to avoid it. I definitely heard it somewhere as kid, but I only remember the chorus. I didn't realize how inane it was until I looked it up more recently. In terms of "kid appeal" pop songs from that time I have much clearer memories of "Who Let the Dogs Out" (one of my friends actually had a Baha Men CD).

I'm curious, is anyone here one of the four people who "bought" a OHW request?

Why did you not listen to popsongs in the 90s like how did you avoid that?

Lucky gits that song was all over the uk in the late 90s

[up] Strangely, though, it didn't peak in the U.S. until January of 2000, and it only peaked at #6. Beyond that, it's #49 on the year-end chart, so it wasn't quite as big here as it was in other countries. That didn't stop it from being so universally recognizable, though.

So I'm rewatching Todd's "Scream & Shout" review and he brings up a song Britney and will.i.am did called "Big Fat Bass," which goes, "I can be the treble, baby; you can be the bass."

I guess that song didn't do so well because it wasn't released at a time when Stuffy Old Songs About the Buttocks were ruling the charts.

Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.

I wonder what his next pop song review will be. So far this year, he's only reviewed "Jealous."

My money's on "See You Again."

1991 Worst, Part 1 and Part 2

As a result of owning the (early) 90's compilation album Livin' in the 90's, I was definitely already familiar with Timmy T. and Stevie B. I also recall Stevie getting airplay at the time, at least.

I happen to agree with his #2 and #1, even though I admit to liking other Bryan Adams songs.
