Several of my work's characters have Super Senses
, and they affect them in both good and bad ways. Gaining a new sense, or having a sense altered, takes a long time to adapt to. There would have to be something to balance it, and there'd be a learning curve. As for an RSP for that specific scenario, I believe it would be some sort of coping mechanism.
For Super Senses
, a coping mechanism is also an absolute necessity. An ability to block some of the sensory input, perhaps, or the common migraine to act as a temporary shutoff. Otherwise, the character will get Sensory Overload
, and I can personally attest how to unpleasant it feels. In short, think of some way the character can deal with, say, their enhanced sense of smell, or vision across different spectrums. And that in itself can act as the Required Secondary Powers
