Okay then. I apologize for being an idiot, and I'll leave you guys to it. I hope you have fun, and that the korpers, eh, do what they do best. I dunno, be Butt Monkeys or The Horde or whatever.

No hard feelings? In the long run, at least?

If someone wants to play as the korpers or if you guys wanna ignore them and pretend they never entered, either way is fine by me...

That said, I still own the rights to them. You can use them for this roleplay, nothing else.

I just found this: I posted it on page 18. And Knowing Is Half the Battle.

Yep, okay, apparently I haven't got a leg to stand on.

-tips hat- Well ladies and gentlemen, my name is Eventua, and I've been your stubborn, whingy, passive-aggressive troll for this evening.

That there is a gaping, circular hole of blackness in the map's center unsettles me for some reason.

To begin with, a notice of Ambassador Nra'Qus to the Cradle.

Second, news of a successful deal with the Lancel Corporation that will ensure the defence of a new trade route.

Thirdly, the discovery of an abandoned solar system with evidence of a long-gone civilisation more coreward by the explorer fleets.

At this rate there will be more long gone civilizations then active and alive ones.

I'm preoccupied with other stuff at the moment; as I told him when we had this discussion a few nights earlier, when I was ready to begin I would let him know.

EDIT: Unfortunately, gents, events have conspired such that I am no longer able or inclined to work on the page for this game. Sorry, gents; if you guys want it, you'll just have to make it yourselves.

Hey guys. Um, obviously I'm not a member any more, and that's, uh, that's cool. I don't mind much, we've already agreed on that, I'm happy not to play.

Would it be okay for me to add stuff to the wiki about the Korpers, though? Background fluff, I mean, stuff like that? Or the trope page? I was thinking on elaborating on their culture a bit, is all. Make them a bit deeper and a tad less aggressive, maybe...?

I was also wondering, um, do you guys mind if I watch how the roleplay unfolds? I'd still like to see how it finishes, though I'm happy not to actually post and get involved...

Sooo... yes. I just, eh... I really don't like losing control of things. I'm fine not controlling anything else, just, just, eh... I own the korpers. It feels weird just... leaving them. To someone else. It's... odd.

I mean, if you guys were in my shoes, would you honestly be okay just leaving it? If Sullen or Colonial were kicked out and then they had no further control over the Kin or the Molo'Qraaat?

Maybe I'm just freaking out over nothing... o_O"

What, on the site? o_O"

If you mean about the thread, I'm keeping an eye on the thread because it's a roleplay featuring one of my creations in a potentially prominent role. I still own them: the least I'm going to do is keep an eye on what gets done with them.

Also, I like Space Opera and sci-fi and there's a lot of creativity here, so I'm interested in seeing how the roleplay unfolds.

Honestly, I'm for retconning them out. It just doesn't seem worth the trouble of keeping them around and they really haven't done much plotwise. On the other hand, plans were devised and voted on for an early large event using them after the first time you quit and you've really lost complaining rights.

On the other hand, I'll say this much; If the Maltese were taken tomorrow, I wouldn't mind. If anything in any RP I was in was co-opted by the DM or the Players, I still wouldn't mind. As general advice, I'd recommend creating races and characters for the sake of the RP rather than importing ideas from elsewhere since sentimentality gets in the way of things. First, it can lead to them not fitting into the setting which led to a lot of the initial disputes and further, the player really caring for a character outside of what happens in the narrative makes it run the high risk of being Sueish.

It's far better to look at the setting and build a race around it; Maltese started in my head as Scary Dogmatic Aliens based off the Tau. I reworked them and realized that I could make them Friendly Dogmatic Humans, which would take some effort to draw back to the initial idea. The Korpers were forced from the start and didn't work with the setting, if the plans in this game continue, you'll likely see why in great detail.

As a final note since you asked for constructive criticism, what bugged me about the Korpers on a personal level was their language. There are other issues but they've been brought before you already and at least some as circumstantial to how they fit in the game, this on the other hand is something that generally applies. But if you're going to do a conlang, it doesn't matter if you use English grammer since not everyone has the time to learn another language for the sake of fiction [though, it takes away bragging rights for making one], but at least make the root words different. I honestly had trouble trying to tell whether they were speaking their native language or whether they were translating into broken English. They were basically the same level of intelligible to me. I mean, I could take a comedy relief race doing it if they switched between their 'native language' and English, but Worse English translated to Bad English? What's the point?

If there was some reason that they were speaking a wierd future dialect/shoot off of English, then I'd be okay with it, but I don't think that was your intent. If you must write an alien language I'd recommend just throwing together the gratuitious alien speak with extra 'k's and 'z's everywhere that mean nothing [See the Doturi and Molo'Qraaat] and is completely unrelated to English [which makes sense as they are aliens] over just using a wierd cockney accent to the point of being almost incomprehensible. But I enjoy languages and conlangs so this was more a personal irk in regards to them.

Finally, we can't stop you from lurking [nor would most of us really care to] but posting too frequently might elicit a response not too far from Colonial's initial one. I think there's an inherent level of awkwardness in myself at least having someone kicked out from the RP proper still commenting from the sidelines.
