Real Robots, so I can see them get steamrollered by tanks.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. It would depend on who I was in the world. I'd much rather be in charge in a Real Robot world than a Super Robot one, since having robots take the credit for all my hard work would piss me off, and I wouldn't like to be helpless in the face of a threat to my nation/military/planet, and have to rely on sentient robots to bail me out of trouble. If I were a pilot, I'd take Super Robot, since controlling a nigh-unstoppable robot would be fun, and being a soldier in the cynical, high-bodycount world of Real Robots would not. If I were an ordinary person, Real Robot; most Real Robot shows lean towards the cynical side, but at least there's always an army of robots making sure you don't get invaded by the other guy's army of robots. In Super Robot shows, there's usually only a few robots trying to stop you from getting blown up; they can't be everywhere at once. A villain in a Super Robot show could cause a lot of damage, and there'd be very little anyone could do to help you before he decided to blow up your city/town/village/school/workplace/house. Maybe before he decided to blow up the planet, but if they wanted to come after you, personally (or a small enough group that you're a part of, like your work, family, school, or village), you're fucked.

Super Robot, of course! Determination would win out over all evil. And it'd be hilarious to see scientists balk at some of the robots.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!I think a real robot world could be more interesting.
But a Super Robot world, cmon, piloting things the size of skyscrapers.
If I could be a CEO I'd definitely go for Armored Core.
And, being that I would not (fingers crossed) be as incredibly idiotic as the other CEOs, I think I could make the world better... and/or be an Evil Overlord and put the rest of those batards to shame.
I am now known as Flyboy.
Super Robot, as Real Robot genre has to do much more to justify why a military body would use the cost, and maintenance heavy robots over tanks and/or armored vehicles.
