The completionist in me just goes 'Hmmm, all the Mn B games plus the DLC?' at the very least I will Try to get far in this first game.
My spellcheck has so many problems with my general vocabulary. 'completionist'
Not dead, just feeling like it.Warband is the best, but not every mod for the original got ported over. So there ARE reasons to play the original, just not universal ones.
In related news, tomorrow I'm grabbing the Wedding Dance mod for the original, and delving into the new models it brings to the game.
I tried to do a thing in Fire and Sword but after my fourth KO I ended up giving up.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I've found that the same distance circling that works so well for aggroing rangers in the original games also works well in this. At least against the bandits. After you raise a strong enough army and enough funds, the powerhouse move is caravan trading. Just escort your own caravans, and the enemies won't touch them.
Once you get enough cash, you can deposit it in an account and continue training while interest accrues.
What thing?
IMO Fire and Sword (modless) is better than Warband (modless). But then again even if both have mods that improve gameplay, it would still be Fire and Sword for me.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I just hate the severely limited character creation in Fire and Sword.
There was no reason to remove all of those features whatsoever.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Do a thing as in start a game xD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.It's based off of a set of novels, involving three Kingdoms that didn't have too much respect for women at that time. The idea was to remove the chances of improbable things like rising-star women happening.
They took away the other start-up choices because there was only one character they had in mind for the entire thing. Change your looks or name, it doesn't matter. It's a story-driven expansion and nothing more.
ETA: And I think they allowed you to make a female character in a patch, anyway. They still only have one character for you.

Trying to do something like that kinda misses the whole point of the game, though.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Taleworlds authorized it as an expansion. I'd say the point of the game is to explore a world and conquer it. Whatever else Fire and Sword did differently, they still got that part down.
Has anybody ever been indicted for treason by their Lord? It's never happened to me, but I know that a female player character's husband isn't exempt. It happened to Rolf when he was married to my Gudrun character. And yet Gudrun remained in the Nordic Kingdom. She wasn't kicked out beside her husband, and there was no divorce.
Can't say I've had it happen to me, but then the first time I even swore fealty to someone was in my last session a couple nights ago, so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

So has anyone played The Clash of Kings mod for Mount and Blade?
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."i downloaded it but didnt do much but give it a quick look before going back to standard floris.
The Rhodoks are getting picked at like a bad dinner, but they're managing to retake what they lose. Sometimes with Luigo's help. We stopped the Swadians from taking over Veluca, only to lose it to the Vaegirs. For now, the truce will hold, but we will have it back soon enough.
So I decided for the first time ever to enter Sarranid territory. With nothing but militia and recruits... I learned very quickly that shield walls beat desert bandits.
Not dead, just feeling like it.Speaking of mods, I'm trying out the Floris Pack for the first time... Hoo boy, is it tough and confusing. It's like I'm learning to play the game all over again.
Shield walls beat anything that relies on missiles unless you're dealing with a large number of throwing axes, since those have a bonus against shields.
ETA: Finally got Wedding Dance downloaded and unzipped. Going to jump in and explore it soon. Will post my thoughts on it. Including the special graphics.

That's why you put crossbows behind your shield wall so they can shoot axe throwers before they get in range
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterThat's why I go Rhodok. They specialize in that stuff.
Blitzing with the khans seems to do pretty well if you can get the rhodok on some sort of even ground. Nords don't seem to have the speed to close the distance and mess up their lines before getting massacred.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? If I am a Rhodok, I avoid even ground like the plague.
Wedding Dance looks like it could be interesting, if it didn't have sound issues that actively cause CT Ds when you try to do important things, like talking to your companions.
Hey everyone, did you know you can activate an experimental rag doll effect in the game? I was messing around in the files and found an options txt file that had the option "realistic headshots" (or something like that) in it. After setting it to "true", I noticed that people in game were falling differently when getting killed by certain ranged attacks; often, instead of the standard clutching-of-face falling backwards animation that they tend to do when they die, troops would actually collapse in very interesting ways after being shot.
Now, I'm not even sure if I'm right; it could have been something else that caused the ragdolling. You guys should try finding the option that activates it to see if it actually works. If it does, then it is totally worth it - the game becomes a bajillion times more fun when you have people getting thrown back from crossbow bolts etc. (Archer armies ftw)
Cool find. I'll have to try that myself the next time I'm in the mood for a game.
Fire and Sword has some nice ideas, but ruins it with a few of the changes.
Luckily there's a mod for Warband that adds all the stuff that's actually good.
