Well, I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only one.
Funny coincidence, I was reading about Zoroastrianism a bit today. Interesting history.

Agreed.
I'm not actually Zoroastrian, I just have an interest in it.
In places like India it's more "mainstream", in fact a number of politicians there are noted Zoroastrians. It's pretty cool.
Freddie Mercury is probably the most famous example of a modern Zoroastrian.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Non-practising Zoroastrian, if I've understood correctly.
Culturally he was a Parsi, and so was raised in a devout Zoroastrian family.
As far as it's known, he was a practising Zoroastrian, and planned his own (Zoroastrian) funeral. Pretty interesting, really; he perhaps introduced the religion/philosophy to many people who otherwise would never have heard of it.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Oh! I had somehow gotten the picture that Mercury was detached from his origins.
That just makes him twice cooler!
Like me. I think I'd probably heard of, but didn't actually know anything about, Zoroastrianism, until one day I was reading about Freddie Mercury and sort of... Wiki-walked into that, too.
I'm not a Zoroastrian, but I respect the faith. Plus, I just feel like bumpng old threads.
This is a signature.Slavs owe to Zoroastrianism more than one could think. All pre-Christian religious terminology is of Zoroastrian origin.
My President is Funny Valentine.Vedic Hinduism (back in the pantheon days) partially developed alongside Zoroastrianism, from the Proto-Indo-Iranian religion.

This is a signature.Slavic religion also had dualistic tendencies. Perkun and Veles were the two creator god who were rivals, but put aside their rivalry for once to do something they couldn't do alone. But both displayed good and bad qualities, so it wasn't Ahura Mazda vs Angra Mainyu esque dualism.
My President is Funny Valentine. So, it was more Grey-and-Gray Morality?
This is a signature.Yes. Veles' servants, Dragons protected people from natural disasters, but were into raping virgins, for example.
My President is Funny Valentine.Ah, mythology… Everyone loves rape. (That should be a trope, but it would be prone to Unfortunate Implications.)
This is a signature. It's interesting to note the similarities and differences between Zoroastrianism and Vedic Hinduism. In Vedic Hinduism, the main gods were the devas, and the "bad" gods were the ahuras. In Zoroastrianism, it's vice versa.
This is a signature.Hi. I'm going to post a link to a Facebook page, Equality of God.
This is a signature.
Ahura Mazda is my homeboy.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.
