Is this... possible? Do any tropers think that someone could actually pull it off, or is it just too contradictory?

Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.

Sure. Farce doesn't mean "stupid."

FARCE:

a. A light dramatic work in which highly improbable plot situations, exaggerated characters, and often slapstick elements are used for humorous effect.

b. The branch of literature constituting such works.

c. The broad or spirited humor characteristic of such works.

Look back at plays like The School For Scandal and The Knight of The Burning Pestle, and movies like The Producers (the first one!) Bedroom Farce is only one type.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.

The Simpsons and Big Bang Theory are farcical but intelligent. I suppose there is a line between farce and absurdism, but you get things like Hitchhiker's Guide and the Illuminatus Trilogy.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are probably right.
