What should the next Doctor look like?

Doctor Who ends with the Daleks exterminating all of time and space in all universes, including themselves.

The Doctor and TARDIS proceed to find a new universe to explore.

The ultimate reboot.

Hardly any more ultimate than rebooting the entire universe from scratch.

Not to break the mood - I love this topic - but shouldn't we take it to the main thread?...

hmm. Actually, the whole mortality of humans thing would seem to depend on when he picks them up from - Liz the tenth is apparantly completely ageless, and I really doubt that technology only ever gets used on her, so there are probably entire eras full of unageing companions for him to pick up. Somewhat moot, tough, as dying of old age seems a highly improbable end for /any/ companion of the doctor. Its not quite as hazardous as being a torchwood employee, but not that far off, either.

Too bad they already brought Donna on, because if they are going to go female next time (and they've bent over backwards to leave open the possibility of black!Doctor or vagina!Doctor), Catherine Tate would be the one.

Romana regenerated into the appearance of someone she recently met. She directed it, but it's still possible that the Doctor's random, natural approach would duplicate someone. Though probably not perfectly.

As in this image that popped into my head:

Catherine Tate!Doctor: "Let's see, let's see. Where's a mirror?" *checks mirror* "Oh your god! I look just like Donna, but still not ginger!"

Catherine Tate as the Doctor would have the downside of either ignoring the past or having her be terminally depressed, constantly.

Yeah, I pulled that out of thin air but still, I think having Catherine Tate as the next Doctor would be pretty sweet. Too bad it won't happen. Ah well, maybe as The Rani.

We can't have River Song be the Doctor. We need to have a female Doctor and see how River Song reacts.

That would be really odd. But I'm not sure I dislike that idea.

A cool guy with a Wales accent, wears a cool Scottish kilt and look like... uh this◊, (the guy on the right) and his favourite item would be a small egg-timer 'hour-glass'. That'ss an ideal '12th Doctor' to me. But the actual 12th Doctor would look nothing like my conceptual version xD It'll be cool if the Doctor was a little bit like Dorian Gray- oh wait...
