I've got work tomorrow, but I'll be back if anyone has a rough time slot for me to look through. I can't just watch the whole movie through.
Fight smart, not fair. You can't directly link pics, they either have to be loaded to TV Tropes or to an image hosting site.
I'm thinking we're gonna need a crowner soon. Even with the glut of media examples, I don't think I've seen anything that I like as much as that first RL pic. Here's some others to consider: 1◊, 2◊, 3◊
It may be tomorrow before I can get to that...is there one that you like enough to warrant uploading it?
By the way, in context the "First RL image" is from a demonstration of how blurring certain areas of an image can help detail stand out.
I checked that first AKT image...it's alright, but when it's resized it's a little small for my liking.
Those were raws. I can crop as needed.
Fight smart, not fair.Bump...any other thoughts?
I can't see anything in the current offerings that evokes the trope for me. The Blacksmith, as a trope, has all these overtones of being mysterious and powerful. In many stories the forge is the heart of a village, doubling as a kind of shrine. Forging a sword has all kinds of mythic resonances.
When I think Blacksmith I think some huge, gruff, muscular man hidden away in the darkness working miracles with metal. Something like this:
That's really good. It would be perfect if it was at 350px, though.
"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeNice find.
Be good to have a source, but the image is good.
That one is great. I see no need for the image to be huge and wide.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOf those three, I far prefer Camacan's to either of Ghilz'.
I like that one. It has hot metal, and a buff guy with a huge beard. What more can you ask for?
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.Post 35 seems to have consensus. I've put that one up. After some detective work, I discovered it's from a canceled MMORPG called Midgard from a Norwegian publisher called Funcom. I've given the attribution as a comment since we don't have an article on the publisher.
