Hi all, I'm a newbie to the TV Tropes community and I wish to get some formal opinions on some of my writing. I've noticed that there are quite a few intelligent people on these boards, and I've also noticed that quite a few of you are very creative. I also feel like I am creative, but I do admit that I have my hangups. I've written several short stories and I have ideas for two (or three, but that's doubtful) novels: a realistic fiction novel and a conceptual Sci-Fi novel. If any of you would be interested in critiquing my work, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks. (If any are interested I'll post my stuff below)

Welcome to TV Tropes, enjoy your stay. smile

Just so you know, there's two critique threads in this forum: The Troper Critique Club, and Uncle Drunkie's Writer/Critic Dating Service. I think you should try posting your stuff in the former, before deciding to have a critique thread to yourself. You'll get more responses that way.

Oh hey thanks! Forgive me, for I am a n00b. I'll keep that in mind. By the way, do you have any information about the standard threads that people post in for most things? (and I have a few other questions but I'm not sure where to ask them)

Writer's Block Daily is the general hub of this sub-forum. That where people often post their progress on stories and general thoughts, with the occasional question that may or may not get an answer.

For quickie questions for your writing (mostly research questions), Random Questions or the General Writer's Block thread is the way to go. But if you want to start a discussion, feel free to make your own thread.

That reminds me: I need to inquire about writing up an introductory post for this sub-forum.

So in theory could I just re-post my question into the Troper Critique Club?

Yep, although you don't need to ask. Post one part that you want looking over on. You can either link it from another site, from here if you put it here, or post it directly on the thread, using quoteblocks [[quoteblock ]] like this, but without the spaces in the tags. [[/ quoteblock]]

like this, but without the spaces in the tags.

OP dude, make sure you include all pertiient information in your request-for-feedback post, including genre, subgenre, word count, intended target (are you expecting to sell your story for money? Big money?) to indicate ambition level, and the intended target audience.

And some kind of synopsis.
