Constant Snarker?

Most snark is deadpan by nature, anyway. So the overabundance of it isn't unfathomable.
My own observation has been that it's generally used correctly, and in the instances it seemed iffy I think lay in the level of deadpannedness of said character.
Of course, my observations don't stand as empirical evidence. Just sayin', is all.

Get a slant at this glossary of Pulp Detective terms. It rates. Pipe that? Not sure that's quite fitting either; they're not necessarily always snarky, just often snarky. Frequent Snarker is a little better, but that name seems a bit awkward.
That's why I suggested using some sort of auto-replacement mechanism, provided the mods have one; I know changing it manually would be a rather difficult undertaking.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartAgainst a rename. Make a separate trope for snarky characters that are more animated.
I'm with Arha.
Also, we already have a TRS on this exact subject here.
Yeah, he was in that then decided to make a rename thread.
Having two threads for the same page, with opposing propositions, is a really bad idea.
I'm going to lock this one, and change the name of the other one to "Needs some sort of repair"
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
The abundance of non-deadpan examples suggests that Deadpan Snarker is widely interpreted to be about snarky characters in general. If we are to have a separate trope for deadpan snarkiness in particular, we'll have to find a different name for it, because the association between the phrase "deadpan snarker" and snarky characters seems too established to get rid of.
For now, I suggest we rename Deadpan Snarker, and once that's done, find some means of programming the wiki to automatically replace every use of the phrase "deadpan snarker" with whatever new title we come up with (personally I'd suggest "the snarker") so that potholes to it, mentions of it on works pages, etc... would use said new title instead of the current one.
