Which article would be more practical?:
love lockdown, you lose.I couldn't figure out a title, and hopefully this is where a post like this would go. This is one of my first times in the forums for TV Tropes, though I've been reading/editing the wiki for about a year. Anyways, a cursory search for 'San Francisco Giants' in TV Tropes during a pretty boring day led to a lot of results for the 2010 champion season, and a lot of current players on said baseball team. As a fan, I got most of these references, but that championship team is so dense that I was thinking about making a page for them. Here's where my question kicks in. Recently, a reality show about the Giants started on Showtime, called The Franchise. Since it's gained a bit of critical acclaim, it might be a good article for the wiki to have. However, it focuses on the 2011 season, but references and explains a lot of the 2010 season well. Question: which article would make most sense for the wiki: one on the San Francisco Giants themselves, where any trope about any season could apply; one on The Franchise, which would greatly explain the memetic 2010 team; or none at all, because it's a sports team and we don't really have pages for those/it's covered in Useful Notes/Baseball?
Raboche-Troperskaya Krasnaya ArmiyaWell, The Franchise can have a page for sure, though at most, the Giants themselves might be Useful Notes material.
ZzzzzzzzzzSeries. The Franchise. It's a work, so it's well within our purview, plus, it's more likely to use tropes. Click on that redlink and start editing.
Half the work on any project is done the week before the deadline. The other half is done the week after.
love lockdown, you lose.Thank you both very much! Got the page up and running, and in the right spots. I appreciate the help!
The 11th GroverAs a side note, as a sports fan, I think in general that we try to stay away from individual franchises receiving their own trope pages. Way too much room for edit warring, pages getting overhauled frequently due to roster turnover, usual flame baiting between franchises... I love my particular set of professional sports franchises, but I fear the day I get to see Philadelphia sports teams troped. It's bad enough that my fellow Philly fans and I get cited for Never Live It Down for an incident that I (let alone the people throwing it in my face) wasn't even alive for. Though this has me wondering, just what would a Hard Knocks article look like? I haven't actually seen the show (only basic cable), but its reputation is certainly... interesting.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
