Because my story's directly inspired by the thread title (which practically begs for highly romanticised and unrealistic Author Avatars), my main character has a number of extremely Sue-ish traits but I'm hoping to avoid most of the standard pitfalls associated with Mary Sues and make it a character that does not seem unduly out of place or universe-warping (which shouldn't be too hard in a setting where nothing can really be out of place, including Reality Warpers).
Another reason for science would be that everyone might not have access to magic. If magic really did inhibit science we could end up with The Magic Versus Technology War.

Laws are made to be broken. You're next, thermodynamics.I am not a sue, I am a villain. I am fated to be crushed by heroes for being a short-sighted arrogant idiot and not reading the evil-overlord list. Until then, though, I can have a lot of fun.
"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent."I would be a Humanoid Abomination with a healing factor, able to Flash Step.
And I would be a friendly one by the way, one that loves to explore the world and learn.
It doesn't matter how well you polish the underside of the banister- Randy PauschA spellcasting Dwarf. With a shotgun.
Trump delenda estNot a gnome?
I would just be a Gender Bender that can fly.
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.
I want to be a wizard/alchemist with Mad Scientist tendency.
Bite my shiny metal ass.
