I wonder if his wife knows about this.Anyway,I find it sick and wrong on so many levels.I wonder how Ms.Rice feels about this.

A guy has a celebrity crush. What's sick and wrong with that?

It's Gadaffi and isn't the guy supposed to be married. And the turn off is he is a omicidal maniac.tongue

...but he's human, like anyone else. He has human urges, human desires, human emotions... there's nothing different about him simply because he's a dictator.

If Tim Minchin is allowed to have a celebrity shag concession for Jonathan Ross's wife then I guess Gadaffi can have one for a politician.

I don't think it's the fact that it's him, I think it's the fact that it's him openly and publicly talking about it when the person in question is a former political worker for the nation that is currently trying its damn hardest to kill him...

I mean, I think it's creepy regardless, because, you know, it's him. But now he's announcing it to the world, and, well...

^ How's he going about telling the world? Is it a "I think Condy is pretty hot." or a "I would totally bone Condy, call me babe."

Well, extrapolating from the fact that we know, I would assume he made some kind of obvious statement to the world.

Or the OP is wrong/working off a rumor/etc. In which case I will freely go back and self-thump that particular post...

Wait...I thought the sick and wrong part came from how unattractive Condoleeza is.

Granted Gadaffi isn't much a looked himself. But he's a dude.

Not that I don't agree that Rice isn't attractive, but, Double Standard here, much?

Tropes Are Not Good, either. And the Double Standard isn't even a trope, because a trope is a building block of a story.

I see no reason why an unattractive man should be somehow more "normal" than an unattractive woman. They are both simply unattractive people. Attractiveness or lack thereof isn't a positive or negative value—or, rather, should not be one—when measuring someone's worth as a person.

His crush on her is real and they have found pictures of Ms.Rice in what was once his house to prove it.And he has stated a statement in 2007 and saying how beautiful she was and praising her for her African heritage.Look at the news section at any search site and you will come up with the story.

To summarize:

1) They found a photo album of her in a room with teddy bears and other happy, perky things. I think it's really sweet.

2) In 2007 he purportedly said "I support my darling black African woman."

3) At a dinner, he supposedly gave her

-A diamond ring

-A lute

-A locket with his picture inside

-A special DVD

Hmm... It takes all sorts I suppose [lol]

[down] Maybe a bit of both? Positions of absolute power doesn't really seem to do much to help the situation.

... so. Is it spending a lifetime in absolute power that turns dictators like Gaddafi into crazy people, or is it a case of crazy people simply being more attracted to the job of being a dictator?

And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)

[up]NO! Not a Rom Com!

...

This must be some fancy-ass propaganda!

But on a serious note... bwhah?

I'm guessing Condie's either thinking "oh, that's schweet" or "Let me kill the fucking douche when you find him."

It's not that different from the men in politics who used to moon over Margaret Thatcher.

There's something about running things that make other people involved in running things seem more attractive I think.

Tbf in that situation I wouldn't know whether to be flattered, creeped out or just have tiny hint of Your Approval Fills Mewith Shame. Think that makes an interesting cocktail [lol]

[up] I am aware that ol' Maggie has her fans but that doesn't stop it being plain Squick to me =/

What is strange is that he purportedly gave her over $212,000 worth of gifts (some highly personalized), and she didn't tell him to ef off and quit stalking her, and (I think) even paid him a few more visits. Given her station, I guess that would have been unacceptably undiplomatic, however.
