Public executions are a means of vengeance. The public aren't going to feel their BURNING HATRED being sufficiently quelled if the guy goes out on his own terms. Which is fine by me-pandering to hatred is disgusting.

It's moral to commit suicide in this case. It would be immoral not to. After all: you're saving taxpayers money, and you're helping teach the world a lesson that relying on rage fueled revengeism is a bad way to do things. You have a civil DUTY to commit suicide in this case.

I don't know about the morality, but personally, there's no way I would commit suicide before the trial. I mean, how else would I grandstand and lure the media for my last 15 minutes of fame? After the sentancing, maybe.

No, but it is the product of anger at a crime. Justice is merely some form of punishment for said crime, plus rehabilitation if the person warrants it.

It was an absurd definition of justice in the other thread, it's an absurd definition of justice here ;P I won't go into a further derail though.
Well, sure, it's probably rational. I'm of that defiant sort that would stay just to fuck with them, though. To me, it makes no sense, because to me, the benefits are outweighed by the loss, in terms of why I should commit suicide.
What other people do doesn't matter much to me here...
And assisted suicide is still bullshit.
