I'm surprised there isn't a thread on this show yet.

So Nation! TV Tropes, discuss Stephen Colbert and The Colbert Report here.

Dude, I thought there was already a thread on it and it was just buried under everything else!

I find Stephen's constant reliance on his gut feelings to be TOTALLY FUCKING AWESOME.

I loved the recent gag they had with Suq Madiq, Liqa Madiq and Munchma Quchi. I still laugh about that in the middle of the day.

I wonder how long the psin doctor guy is going to stay with Colbert. He might stay as long as themoney's good, but Stephen is probably going to give him grief every time he appears. Which sound hilarious, but it might piss him off.

First of all, I love this show. It's one of the few things that makes politics bearable for me.

Second, in case some of you haven't seen it, pay special attention to the Heroes list during the interview with Jeff Bridges. It's roughly at 14:17.

If it does he obviously wasn't paying attention to the show he was getting involved with.

Lots of people go on Colbert and expect to be allowed to make their point without having it shot to pieces.

I have no idea what last night's top story was about.

The Colbert Report suspended production last night — very last-minute, ticketholders were turned away from the taping.

"Family emergency" of some sort, evidently.

That link (after I unbroke it) is now updated to say that it's because his mother is deathly ill.

I was pretty uncomfortable watching his interview with Julie Andrews this week because he kept asking her to sing with him.

She hasn't sung professionally for decades because a throat surgery took her singing voice.

It did feel a little better when she finally gave in.

I'm surprised the Daily Show thread has more replies. The Colbert Report is a much better show.

[up][up]I got the impression that they had talked that over in advance.

They would have had to. It'd be unethical to book someone on Colbert without letting them agree to be mocked.

Besides, she was brushing him off in a rather practiced manner.

I love the interviews that Colbert has with children's book authors. I would like to see more of them, somehow, some way.

Just learned from his show 2 things:

501(c)4 is the new Sneaky PAC thing Karl Rove is working on, which Colbert responded to with his, Colbert SHH!PAC

And Maurice Sendak, author of Where The Wild Things Are has died

the interview excerpt about the story for his dog was a real Tear Jerker.

The painting of Jesus giving America the Constitution is, according to the artist, "going to change America by making people think about what's happening."

I think about the march to theocracy far too much for my sanity already.

One of the items on the Threat Down was African-Americans from another dimension. Is it wrong that I would TOTALLY watch a movie with that premise?

[up][up]Thanks for reminding me to look that guy up. I tried to during the segment, but the site was down due to excessive traffic (I wonder why). The "artist" really does have no sense of subtlety.
