Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

I think that ideally a Ms Marvel story would be best told in a trilogy, the first would be a campy sort of fun Superhero story using the Ms Marvel name (like say the first Iron Man, possibly with the press naming her that, or it being a accidentally given name or something), the second being a darker more "realistic" movie (closer in tone to the Avengers) using Warbird, and finally a third half-way ground between the two using the Captain Marvel name, with flavors of camp and grittiness combined.
I would also like to see them feature the whole "Binary/The Brood" plotline, possibly in the Warbird movie or between it and the Ms Marvel one, but I don't want them to use the Binary codename since it has zero clout.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"The name is largely irrelevant since most movies, the Marvel ones included, tend to be very ironic or post-modernist about them in a wink, nod way.
So you could just have Captain Marvel be a joke or nickname that the press or one of her fellow soldiers gives her and then just call her "Carol". Heck I think Hawkeye and Black Widow are only ever referred to as such one or twice and just get called "Natasha" and "Barton" for most of the Avengers flick.
Not just character name, but also movie name. But maybe it's just me that'd want to see her carrying her own movie, because that's how I might like to see her debut.
Or maybe she could debut in GOTG somehow.
To my surprise, Erik Selvig is stated to be in the Thor sequel. I thought they were done with him.
And Kat Dennings (humminahumminahummina) and Idris Elba return with expanded roles too. And my fellow Nigerian for Kurse. And even a Stan Lee cameo!

The sad, REAL American dichotomyY'know who I think would be awesome to see in a Thor sequel? Beta Ray Bill.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)I wonder if they'll do a Mordo/Dormammu team-up (with Mordo being the main archenemy who serves the powerful god (Dormammu remaining mostly offscreen)) for the Strange movie. It seems like the best course of action, though more likely I guess they'll do the origin (which would still involve Mordo, of course) and then do something like that.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. That's pretty much how it happened in the comics.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Wait, weren't The Brood Xmen property?
Also, we can never have enough redheads. Never. Not unless they can import Jean and Mary Jane.
Fight smart, not fair. The Brood showed up in the X-Men comics, but apparently the contracts are *not* ill-defined "anyone from that comic" type deals. So, they may be obscure enough not to be covered, especially since they aren't mutants in any way.

Am I a good man or a bad man?If they're talking about the X-Men license in general, they may be correct. As someone mentioned before Kevin Feige mentioned that future Avengers sequels could conceivably use Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, but that Fox would have rights to them as well. I think the twins are even briefly name-dropped via a computer readout in X-2.
I have no idea with the Brood though.

Well, Quicksilver had a cameo in Wolverine Origins. He's still available to the Avengers so long as he isn't referred to as a mutant or Magneto's son.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireYeah, I know that the courts specifically decided on Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (who should also be a redhead) can be used in either capacity, but I've never run across the Brood as anything but an Xmen enemy. Dunno, maybe I just haven't seen them that much?
Fight smart, not fair.I'd rather the Brood weren't used; they'd come off as too similar to xenomorphs.
Oh, I'm fine with Wanda being a redhead. I'd prefer it.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy...Aren't there enough redheads in the cinematic universe already?
I mean, seriously, this is ridiculous.
ophelia, you're breaking my heartI'm not sure I understand the question. The way you arranged those words makes no sense.
Fight smart, not fair.We already have Pepper and Black Widow, do we need another redhead?
I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.
Last time I looked, Pepper in the MCU is blonde.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"I'm not sure why we wouldn't. Besides, you can blame Lee for starting that craze way back when.
As mentioned, she's strawberry blonde anyway, which isn't real red hair.

Fight smart, not fair.
I don't understand why Gwenth Paltrow didn't dye her hair.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"Right I keep forgetting that.
I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.It looks like the Ten Rings terrorists from the first film are back in Iron Man 3. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/GraphicCity/news/?a=67799

Not surprising, considering that the character that the group's named after is appearing in it as well.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)So who all got the Avengers DVD? What all is on it? On the Blu-Ray? (I keep forgetting I have a PS 3 and thus can watch that).
The sad, REAL American dichotomy
Honestly, the name is the hardest part. Her basic premise is fine, her costume can be reworked into something doable, but her names are terrible for marketing. You've got a choice between campy and boring.
