Just a heads up, all Fan Fics go under the FanFic namespace (to link to it type FanFic/NewLookSeries e.g. New Look Series). Also, it should be on the Fan Fics index.
This is exactly why I made this topic. Thank you for clearing that up.
According to the discussion on the Fan Fic index, though, it's not allowed to post your own fanfics on the index and they would just be removed.
IMO, it doesn't really matter if the author Entry Pimps it, as long as it's informative. However, the page does currently only have one trope listed. If you expand the trope list for the New Look Series page, the likelihood is nobody will bat an eyelid.
You don't post a fanfic on the wiki. You can tropify it, but this isn't a database for fanfics.
Fight smart, not fair."IMO, it doesn't really matter if the author Entry Pimps it, as long as it's informative. However, the page does currently only have one trope listed. If you expand the trope list for the New Look Series page, the likelihood is nobody will bat an eyelid."
I see. I was hoping to avoid editing the page myself as much as possible, but if you think that's the best method then so be it. How much do you think would be acceptable? 10 tropes? 20, 30?

I'm not sure what you mean. If tropify means posting a list of the tropes found in the fanfic, then that's what I'm doing. Otherwise, you'll have to explain what you mean to me.
The idea is that making a trope list for your publicly-readable fanfic is perfectly fine—we just aren't the place for the fanfic to be posted verbatim.
As for the trope list, you are encouraged to fill it out to the best of your ability so long as:
- You accept that you don't own the page
- You avoid YMMV tropes (since as the author, you're biased on the matter)
- You stick to tropes present in the published content (ie no posting tropes that appear in Part 5 when only Parts 1-3 are available to read)
I'd say ten tropes would be enough.
If you have any fans, you could always invite 'em on over to the wiki to edit it.
Yes, summarizing your series and listing tropes present is a good thing. We've had people in the past mistake TV Tropes for another fanfiction.net and enter the entire text of their fanfic instead of writing an article about it; that's what "posting your fanfic" means.

I didn't write any of that.Yes, that's what I meant. Put as many accurate tropes as you want. Don't shoehorn to try and gather wiks, it's rude. You probably don't want to put any YMMV on there either.

Which is what I was doing. I'm sorry if anyone misunderstood me, but I would've thought you'd have at least checked the page out before posting.

Okay.
"You avoid YMMV tropes (since as the author, you're biased on the matter)" "Don't shoehorn to try and gather wiks, it's rude. You probably don't want to put any YMMV on there either."
This is actually another reason I wanted Wiki Magic to handle it. I feared I may unconciously include YMMV tropes without realising it. But I'll try my best.

Okay. Thank you everyone; I'll get to work as soon as I can.

I actually did, using my deviantART journal. I don't know if any of them will come over, though.
You're unlikely to add YMMV by accident, they've got a big banner at the top of the trope page saying they're YMMV pages. It'll also pop up with a little orange dot if you put it on the page and when you edit the page, it'll ask you to move them to the YMMV page.

I apologise if this is not the correct place to post this, but I couldn't see anywhere more fitting.
I've recently decided to take advantage of TV Tropes' No Such Thing As Notability policy and posted a page for my fanfiction series, called the New Look Series. But I mainly did this as I wanted to see how my stories are seen through the eyes of others, plus I am a total noob in regards to this website's methods. As such, I want to limit my own input on the page as much as possible.
So, again, I apologise if I'm not supposed to do this, but is there anyone willing to expand the New Look Series page?
