I have always wondered what was behind those [DATA EXPUNGED] things in scp-447's page. It is apparently SOOOO important that it doesnt touch a dead body...EVER. Or else [DATA EXPUNGED] What do you think would happen if scp-447 ever did touch a dead body?

My guess. SCP-447 is a zombification enzyme.

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

According to this page (admittedly connected to a joke SCP), exposing SCP-447's slime to a dead body somehow transported Dr. Clef to an alternate universe.

I say the interaction of the slime and dead bodies creates a scent that attracts hyper-dimensional creatures that eat the space between universes.

I didn't write any of that.

at first i thought it would be a zombie type thing, but i figured that'd be too cliche :/ For some reason i always thought that it would somehow cause the corpse to create tons more of the slime and at a much faster rate, effectively flooding pretty much everything and getting even more dead bodies covered in the stuff, causing a "chain flood" of the slime junk. But i do like the whole interdimensional creature thing

It makes a substance that makes one fully immortal when they consume it. However, the higher ups of the SCP Foundation want to keep that to themselves.

That sounds way more dangerous that the article lets on. What about insect corpses? And what about bacterial husks, for that matter?

Really, all it takes is some mosquito to fall into it and whatever unpleasant thing that is supposed to happen will happen...

This makes me guess...

Absolutely nothing happens. SCP-447 is absolutely harmless, and is used as a tool to find out which agents have dangerous tendencies.

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.

No no no no no, you don't understand.

That slime is a sort of base form, and exposing it to the dead activates some sort of morphing system that turns that harmless-looking slime into that walking nightmare called SCP-682.

Sorry to bring back this dead thread, but here's the absolute truth on the matter.

As told in the tale 'The Truth About 447', the effect is finally known.

Nothing. It does nothing. Or it might. Nobody knows, because the guy in charge of testing SCP-447 is deathly afraid of dead bodies. He made up a terrible, horrible, potentially world-ending reaction that would occur, should the two ever come into contact.

Eh, headcanon.

Perhaps it does multiply out of control... Or how about mutating the corpse into The Thing?

[up][up] Actually, it's not known. It's just that no tests were performed. As far as we know it COULD be as bad as it's hyped, or it could indeed be nothing.

Oh well, time to go dump green jello onto corpses and claim that it was Bright.

Hmm...

Perhaps the goo actually just causes disturbing chemical reactions with dead bodies?

I figured it would create a sort of incident that could cause the destruction of several square miles if not entire states, countries, or the world at large. Everybody reacts as if it would do just that.

Well, I just looked over the experiment log to refresh myself on the properties of SCP-447, and the conclusion I've come to is this: clearly, this substance is good at making things better. Improved accuracy on guns, improved flavoring on food, even temporarily corrected vision! The only thing it doesn't work on at all seems to be electronics, probably shorts them out or something. Anyway, it probably works like embalming fluid on dead bodies. Probably too well. Before you call me uncreative for suggesting zombies, hear me out. Indestructable zombies! Can't be killed with a bullet to the brain, constantly regenerating damage, probably even becoming faster and deadlier with every passing second! The reason the SCP absolutely forbids contact between 447 and corpses is probably because the result would be uncontainable, which is a huge no-no for them!

tl;dr: goo + corpses = indestructable zombies, and the SCP only has so many broom closets.
