As read this trope appears to be "a one-way path to an earlier part of the game world, usually to allow you to avoid a lot of backtracking." But the page includes examples of warp points, people offering to transport you around (flight, wagons, boats, etc.), Pokemon ledges (they're just a variant of a one-way barrier, not a path to a wildly different area), etc.

In fact, I would suggest splitting off examples of "once you beat the boss you'll be warped/teleported/portaled back to the start of the dungeon" into a separate trope.

The description uses the example of a door that sends you back to the beginning of a dungeon, not to a completely separate part of the game world. A Pokemon ledge would count just fine as long as it takes you from the end of the route/cave/whatever back to the beginning.

Well, I think we need a split between "shortcut out of a dungeon appears upon defeating boss" and "shortcut to an earlier part of the overworld appears late in the game" and take out the generic "warp anytime" examples.

Don't some "warp anytime" examples fall under Warp Whistle?

Yeah, hence "take out".
