No. Multi-generational space ship to colonise another planet. Maybe the film is set post-colonisation for an examination of a society crafted by particular technologies. I recall a teaser with a mutated pig so maybe conspiracy involving hordes of supersoldier pig men?

I remember that Jodie Foster was cast as the governor of a colony.

Bam. Space colony. Now just wait for the news of Sharlto Ccopley being casted as a pig man stormtrooper.

This is gonna be one of those "We can't really cheer for either side because they're both horrible people" kind of movies, isn't it?

Wouldn't that be Evil vs. Evil? Black-and-Grey Morality is dinstinct for having "pick complete absolute genocidal evil or morally ambiguous good."

I might have meant that. I mean, yeah, Earth's in a worse shithole than it was in Blade Runner, Avatar, and The Conversion Bureau, combined. Yeah, Matt Damon's doing something that's pretty close to the right thing. But even if the bad guys didn't send killbots after him, what was his plan? Beat up rich people until they let everyone else on board?

I suppose it's like someone said in the trailer "You can't save everyone."

But let us see and wait. Maybe they'll develop this in a interesting way.

The giant space station-thingy is just begging for a good old Colony Drop near the end.

Seems alright from this first look, even for another "evil rich, fighting poor" dystopia. The visuals look cool, as does the powered add-ons concept. I notice there seems to be no Love Interest. I hope it stays that way.

Given that the kind of technology seen on Elysium exists, it's capable of producing a better life for everyone, not just a small minority. Everyone probably can't fit on Elysium, but attacking it could bring the rich to the realization that they aren't going to be able to have their peaceful, pleasant life unless they choose to use their technology to improve the lives of the vast majority of the population still on Earth instead of hoarding it for themselves.
