As for Gurren Lagann... My friend recommended it to me, even though I wasn't a huge anime fan. So I don't know if that ruined my perception of anime. Afterwards, I watched Panty and Stocking, Kill la Kill, and FLCL. I watched some stuff like FMAB, Code Geass, and Madoka, but my favorite kind of anime has been the completely batshit insane kind.
Not really. My tastes are very similar to yours. I just think it's harder to appreciate thos anime, and anime as a medium, if you don't dip your toes in with the calmer, more critically acclaimed anime.

Goddamn, that's in depth. Ultimate was no exaggeration.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeDamn that's detailed.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyToo detailed.
I admire the dedication it took to make it, even as I gave up reading the full thing.
One Strip! One Strip!@MalcolmBelmontS Isn't Adachi a way bigger spoiler than Jojo Part 4's villain?
Yes he would be because it's a murder mystery spoiler.
So anyway, if Yu was in a death battle do you think they would give him only Izanagi because of the whole "rpg characters have too many options so they get what they had in the fighting game" policy? (and also because the sprites are already made lol) Though I suppose if they wanted to do persona switching they could steal the Cu Chulainn, Ardha, Yoshitsune, Kaguya and Magatsu-Izanagi sprites from other characters, since Yu has access to those Personas.
I figured they'd give him what he used in the anime. I don't remember everything he had, but Pyro Jack and Beelzebub were among them. And of course, they'd only have moves that they gain naturally and not gained via fusion/skill cards. The personas do have 3d models, and Narukami has a more realistically proportioned model from Dancing All Night, so they can go that route with animation.
tl;dr: They all say it's super close, but a majority are leaning towards Hawkeye.

Well to be fair more pepole know about Persona 4's villain than Jojo's Part 4 villain. The Fan Blog doesn't always get it right. I mean look at Ryu vs Scorpion

Now, how often their answer should be right... Is a topic that could be debated forever.
I have a message from another time...Still waiting for the day we get to see a Digimon in Death Battle. Maybe with Adventure Tri that will change.
So no thoughts on my Big Boss vs Motoko Kusanagi idea on the last page?

Not interested in seeing Big Boss in Death Battle. We already saw Solid Snake fight and I don't see what Big Boss would do to distinguish himself from his clone.
I guess you're not counting the Lucario VS Renamon OMM?
Well, to my own knowledge, Big Boss' tech isn't as advanced as his clone's, so there's that. And, going by Snake Eater, he can barely go five minutes without needing a snack.

Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805(x3) Hey, I got nothing for the Spike Spiegel suggestion, wait your turn.
Though to be fair they don't have a sprite for him anyway.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Given that they've done Superman vs Goku twice, I wonder how a DBZ Villain vs Superman Villain Death Battle would go.
Something like Freeza vs Mongul (or Darkseid, if they use Golden Freeza). Cell vs Brainiac. Or Buu (or Beerus) vs Mxyzptlk.
Or, totally for fun, an Oozaru (any one, really) vs Titano.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Buu vs Mr. Mxyzptlk would be great. Really, anyone vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk would be great.
Mad Jim Jaspers vs Mr. Mxyzptlk. Franklin Richards vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk. Bugs Bunny vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk.
You're now wondering if I typed out "Mxyzptlk" every time.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyBuu vs Mxy would be the most hilarious thing they've ever done (though not so fun for the innocent bystanders, I'd bet). Though anybody vs Mxy might be a foregone conclusion, which is why I thought maybe Beerus if not Buu (since he'd put up a better fight, even if he'd be less funny).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The really high-end Reality Warpers don't really belong in death battles, for much of the same reason as Superman.
Unless it's Reality Warper vs Reality Warper, maybe. How powerful is Q?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. That's even worse. If both combatants basically have infinite power, deciding the outcome of a battle becomes extremely arbitrary.
I mean, all versus matches are inherently arbitrary since everything is up to the whims of the storyteller, but the high-end Reality Warper vs Reality Warper battles in particular are arbitrary to a ridiculously huge degree.
Mad Jim Jaspers vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk would overrule any storyteller, but would also be incomprehensible to us.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy
Aigis vs Noel Vermillion
Weiss vs Mitsuru Kirijo
Kanji Tatsumi vs Beowulf (Skullgirls)
Adachi vs Jojo Part 4's villain (Not saying who it is for spoilers sake)
Yu vs Jotaro
