I cracked up at the TREES monologue.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Probably one of my favorite CA contributors at the moment, I can't think of a single bad review he has done.
Gerry has been the only one I've seen for one reason. It's the same reason I don't see the Snob's work.
But Gerry was a great review and hey Oan can sing. Hell he wasn't autotuned for One Day More like most of the TGWTG cast.
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyI've been going through his reviewtopia catelogue...man, I'm bored with sex now. No, it's worse, I associate sex with boredom itself.
From the films or the reviews?
I'm kinda hoping he'll be at a convention in the Washington D.C. area sometime soon (he and I both live there.)
I want a soundtrack release. I want to be able to listen to the magic dance bit over and over. Also I want the audio cleaned up a bit.
I agree. The entire review I would love on my mp3 player.
I've got a new reviewing role model.
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyHas there ever been a Musical Episode in a review show before?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Not to this extent. There's been slight musical numbers for a while. But a review fully done in music. That's new.
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyI love this guy. My only complaint about today is that there was no of the dedicated analysis (or if there was it was lost in the Bowie).
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I've seen slight analysis in the vices mentions and the Magic Dance.
I love how he doesn't do the high note from Life on Mars and just makes a joke.
To Be Updated when I'm not LazySlow clap
Kill all math nerdsThat was awesome. My only criticisms would be technical— the audio and camera could both be sharper. But other than that, wow. That was awesome.
Oancitizen has been in my top 5 reviewers list since he came on site, but this is above and beyond. Niiiiice.
Thanks for the all fish!I love the review, but I'm not a sufficient David Bowie fan to know all of the songs. This doesn't get in the way often, but at times, it leaves me confused.
Let's give an example. I'd never seen or heard "Ashes To Ashes" before, so I had to read the comments to get the song name and Youtube it to understand what he was going for with the "Rip's happy, Candy's happy too" shot.
Still, a minor complaint, and one that enriches in the end. (And an excuse to rewatch the "Magic Dance" choreography, too. Yay!)
That episode was a Crowning Moment Of Awesome / Crowning Music Of Awesome. More people need to see it.
the statement above is falseI just started watching Brows Held High today and perhaps it's because I have no experience with arthouse films but I must ask WHY SO NUDE!? WHY WHY WHY!?
Oh, watching his 9 Songs review right now, his intro is beautifully executed, I never imagined so many sex terms could flow from the maw of man so smoothly, quickly, and with a straight face.
The Blog The ArtArthouse films are about pushing boundaries. Sex is where a lot of boundaries are, so that's where they push.
Kill all math nerdsI am aware that indie films are meant to cause discomfort but after seeing the Ken Park review I'm wondering if I feel sorry for those who subject themselves to this and have to go over them again and again in editing just to make the review, or simply be indifferent since people do willingly go to see these films and know full well what they're getting into.
The Blog The ArtSome people think "middle class white kids have sex" is still news.
Kill all math nerdsThe Brown Bunny is up. You know, the one where Chloe Sevigny gives the director a blowjob.
Not as ridiculously epic as his last one, but still very funny.
AND NOW FOR THE ORAL PART OF THE EXAM.
I'm a skeptical squirrel
I'm a little surprised there hasn't been a thread on "Brows Held High", by Oancitizen. I find the guy really funny, even if he reviews movies whose motives and meanings go so far above my head, they're hitting 747's.
Thoughts?

Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?
