One of the main reason I started to work on my story is so that I can write characters with massive murder skills. There's a guy who can rip people in half with his bear hands and an assassin girl who can dodge bullet point-blank and make a sushi out of a person in split seconds.

Now the problem is, one of the main conflicts for those characters is that they want to unleash their urge to kill, but also have a normal life. Because they had experience with killing live people and really grown to hate it and swear that they won't take a human life again.

Now...where am I going to get my slashing and punching gorefest? What can make an expendable beings that are mass-producable and guilt-free upon killing? My verse runs on Fantasy Kitchen Sink, by the way. It would need to have some intelligence too so they can use guns and communicate with each other to plan.

Golems? Cheap, quite hard to kill and since OurMonstersAreDifferent, you could have them intelligent...

Steampunk clockwork soldiers with artificial intelligence provided by difference engines, who in addition to being able to handle weaponry can also breathe scalding hot clouds of steam at their enemies.

Um... Well, that's my idea anyways. >.>

Well, I want one with some blood because I really like High-Pressure Blood.

[up] Well, not trying to sound picky but I want real blood, or at least ones which colors are red.

Mass-produced human bodies bred for combat, without much in the way of brains besides that which lets them follow basic orders and hold a weapon.

Or animal hybrids, for What Measure Is a Non-Human?.

This is this.

Androids. Have them bleed white blood, like Raiden in MGS 4.

Guit free smart opponents that bleed blood (or whatever red liquid)?

You're asking waaaaaaaaay too much. (In other words I hate guilt free mooks with a passion. But still, can't think of anything.)

A hive minded group of men in black who are expendable clones being controlled by one original?

Granted, not the most creative option, but it has blood.

Cyborg clones. Cyborgs, because, as we all know, Cybernetics Eat Your Soul, so you could claim they're not really human any more.

How about Shikigami? Cut 'em up, and they'll be reduced to nothing but paper. Ofuda, I believe.

I'll be your mook. 50 dollars a day, and I want to pick my own uniform.

...Oh. Never mind.

There's good old zombies, of course. And by 'good old' I mean voodoo zombies—humans controlled by a master—rather than brain eaters.

Alternatively, reptilians.

Or... Orc ninjas!

Goblins, Faeries, Homunculi, Alien, normal people who've lost their souls*

, Androids* ... Hell, you could always make up a creature specifically to be Cannon Fodder.

Animated terracotta soldiers?

Like Seamus said above, can't go wrong with zombies, right? You could make reanimated corpses powered by whatever power source (still reliant on human blood) you have handy, maybe tweak the body so it also has a cannon and ammo dispenser built into it, or maybe a giant meat cleaver, etc.

Pod people

Pod people are drones designed by sentient plants to mimic the people trapped in the vines, so that they can eliminate threats and lure more people in to "enrich the soil."

Consider that the pod people are basically giant walking tomatoes and you can gush gross squishy red stuff out of them like its an all you can eat salad bar.

I'd go with irreversible voodoo zombies, but add that the zombie is aware the whole time, knows of their current condition, and remembers its past life. So now it is morally repugnant not to kill them.

You can use Symbolic Blood. Samurai Jack did it really well.

You could even make the symbolic blood red AND a plot point!

Have it be a more efficent fuel source being kept from the public to be used by the villains.

alternaty, confirm early on that the mooks are Complete Monsters.

I had this idea a while back, but it doesn't fit into any of my stories, so you're welcome to it, if you'd like:

If the story is set 20 Minutes into the Future, you could say that people have beaten the uncertainty principle and pretty much mastered Quantum Physics, leading to them constructing a teleporter, which deconstructs a person atom by atom, and copies them again somewhere else. Here's the thing though: When someone gets teleported, their soul dies with their original body, and what amounts to just a husk comes out of the other end. These husks are pretty much zombies, or whatever you want them to be, however you want them to act.
