Bump, a clear Laconic would probably help with misusage of this trope. I'd change it myself but I have no clue what this trope is supposed to be.

'Reach the top, and go one step beyond', is great for the trope name but the definition that follows describes competitions. 'Keeping Up with the Jones' and 'topping war' are competitions. A new one could be 'X and Y are rivals, and they continuously try to top each other and themselves'. That's a competition. The current laconic sounds like Beyond the Impossible, which could explain why some confuse the two.
