apparently making the TR and NC AI weapons worth a shit was "too much effort" so they just decided to kill the PPA too...

Man I was just starting to hope for the Mag, but apparently wanting to fit an ES secondary is dumb and everyone should just use NS. Here's for hoping that this all shakes out to something that is still viable for VS, and an improvement for the others, but I'm not very confident in the proposed incremental changes so far. I could live with the ammo nerf, the PPA can fire approximately forever, but the splash radius nerf could be really, really rough on the weapon.

Ugh. My laptop is crap and I'm away from home. I miss playing Planetside. So much shenanigans. I have so many things I want to be saving for. Like a vandal or hornets.

Back from vacation and did some preliminary testing. Holy SHIT the new deploy shield is strong. maxed out it survived three direct mines, or a full load of C4 without even taking hull damage.

The last two days I've been trying to play I ran into massive vehicle zergs that would overpop several facilities at once 2:1, with roughly approximate total population on the continent. Naturally, Amerish and esamir were locked to ensure that Indarside could continue. I'm really growing to loathe that continent. got fed up with having to fall back an entire facility just to be able to take potshots at hovering aircraft because it's the only way I could spawn without being rendered to my constituent atoms instantly.

Hmm... What are your opinions on the new Directives system that was added in the latest monthly patch?

I like it, it's not an "elite currency" to get significantly better weapons, and having more goals for a player to get a sense of achievement helps retention. The difficulty of achieving even one ensures that the skins and weapons will remain at least moderately uncommon and still be worth that feeling of pride.

Ok, so I looked up the stats on the VS pistol reward, and it's a STRAIGHT DOWNGRADE FROM THE BEAMER.

... Huh, how about that. Apparently its suppressor doesn't change your max damage range, unlike the normal suppressors, but... I don't think that's really helpful? It's not like you're going to be using the beamer at any range other than more or less up your target's arse anyways.

Re: the spiker; I want to like it but I feel like its ROF is way too slow with the charge mechanic adding so much delay even if you're not charging. The "fire on release" adds a lot more lag than I thought it would.

It's probably weird, but I usually feel no pressure to capture the tech plant on esamir. The NC and TR are both very fond of it, though which is reason enough to hold it, but I feel like a lightning is a better choice than a magrider 9.99/10 times for me. I have no dedicated gunner friends, and it's apparently impossible to get people to hop into the gunner seat even if you're sitting there. 1/2 screaming for help as fast as your fingers will let you.

The Lightning is devastating now that it has some turret stabilization. It's great.

Meanwhile, the Valkyrie is up on the public test server! It's... Real weird, honestly. It has a completely different flight model from everything else in the game. Even at full forward speed it can't even beat gravity, but its vertical thrusters are insanely powerful - fly with your nose tilted down and you can get a pretty good speed, although it's still way to slow in my opinion. Turns on a dime too.

Still wish it had six seats instead of four.

I have so little use for aircraft that I'll doubt I'll ever use it.

Did the skyguard get buffed, or were aircraft nerfed? I seem to chew through things now with flak. even with only moderate certs in my lightning it performs very, very well. The narrower hitbox than the obscenely fatass magrider is also appreciated. I seem to eat through tanks now too with AP.

It's mildly frustrating TBH, because I splurged to make my magrider swanky looking and now I never want to use the damn thing because a lightning is almost always the better option. also I just finished the silver directive for the lightning :3

I'm contemplating attempting to auraxium my lightning.

I'm doing considerably better than normal recently but I'm still frustrated because Connery lately seems to be "two continents locked (By the NC), 40% NC pop in both of the other two"

now I remember why I avoid tower fights against the NC. Can we please find teh foley artist who did the audio for the NC Antivehicle MAX weapons and Lock them in a basement without food or water until they record one that doesn't make me want to literally annihilate kittens?

I am trying to use the xm96. I really am, but the phaseshift is just better in every way. More controllable, better Refire time, no straight pull bug that causes the scope the sway uncontrollably, and no bullet drop that requires me to aim ten feet above my targets head at ranges where the phaseshift is point and click.

I tend to use my lightning as a close-midrange brawler it seems, where my magrider is relegated mostly to obscene flanking and ambush tactics. It helps that my magrider has nearly maxed out vehicle stealth.

Man, Fighting against the NC all the time has made me kind of bitter.

Laser guided AV weapons, the best anti-infantry MAX weapons, a tank you can't win against unless you surprise them, they're damaged, or they suck, stalker infiltrators with shotguns, jackhammer...

ugh.

Can we please please PLEASE go back to the old alerts? I an so fucking sick of indar being the only populated continent. It's such an awful map. Made of chokepoints, dead zones, and steep narrow paths with sightlines that give anyone in the hex a shot at your head.

I'd love for them to just do away with Alerts entirely and finish the Continental Lettuce once and for all. Give us our multi-continental war, SOE.

had some good fights on esamir, then it got locked, did ok on amerish, until the NC decided having 2x our numbers every fight was a better idea, moved to indar, IMMEDIATELY REGRETTED MY DECISION for the skies were blotted out with airzerg, and the ground coated in tanks.

I logged out after that. Seriously, FUCK indar.

Membership really paid off today! with me riding alerts the whole time, I racked in 500 certs in three hours thanks to continuous ~110% bonus XP gain.

My accuracy as medic and engineer suuuuck, single digit percentages! That's what you get for cover fire I suppose.

Does anyone else who plays VS wish they had a sidearm? My loadouts just have Primary, Flashlight, Tool, etc. Why aren't the VS allowed to have good pistols :/
