can anyone identify the TV show I describe here:

I remember, years and years ago, back in the 90s, how I saw this episode of a TV show that really made me laugh; but now I can't remember what the show was called.

I think the show was a britcom. In the episode, these people (friends?) go to a hotel of which the room is very drab, and one of the women says something to the effect of "This place could do with some spicing up." That night, two of the men get drunk and hang out on the roof of a fish and chips restaurant, where there is a giant fish statue. The next morning, said fish has mysteriously appeared in the hotel room; the two men apparently having stolen it in their drunken state. They panic; they've got to get rid of it before the police find it. So they unsuccessfully try to cut it apart with first an axe, then a knife. At the end of the episode, they are able to get it out of the room by tying baloons to it.

A few quotes I remember:

"The toilet paper is in a V-shape."

"How did this fish get here?!", "I don't know, you can't expect me to remember everything!"

"But you said this place could do with some brightening up!", "Yes, but not a 10-foot fish!"

(Upon grazing her side on one of the fish's fins) "Ouch! Bloody fish!"

...ringing any bells?

This sort of question goes in You Know That Show.
"I wish to be surrounded by people who do not look like me in a place full of interesting aromas and colors." — blackcat
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
