Seems goood so far, and it has good animation like Sunrise is known for.

Agh, a typo, I meant Sacred Seven. Can someone change that, please?

Looks to be good mindless fun

What the did I just watch?

Seriously, it's like I watched a clip show of the first season of some other show - I get what's going on for the most part, but I don't know WHY any of that happened, and the art style looks like it would have been common five years ago but it's to detailed for that to be the case, and I can tell weather it's a parody or playing it dead serious or WHAT. I can't even tell if I liked it or not, it's that effing confusing.

There where parts where my jaw was on the floor because Oh My God they really just did that and then they KEEP GOING past the point where it's clearly no longer parody but then when they're finished it's like they look at the camera and wink and....

So Yeah

I'm going to wait till I see a second episode of this before making a judgement one way or another. It's just too over the top something for me to decide how I feel about it at this point.

I like this show....even though I have never ever ever seen anything like this in my entire life, it still feels nostalgic for some strange reason..............

And if there is any one character I have interest in, it's the butler, Kagami. I just...like his character design and demeanor....too bad he's weak as hell. He'll probably end up like Uryuu.

Definately gonna follow this series.

Also, does the protagonist resemble more like a secondary protagonist rather than an actual main character? He looks like a best friend of a protagonist, who gets his powers after the protagonist gets his own in typical anime....usually in the second episode.

I like that Ruri doesn't have a super high pitched voice.

But I spent a lot of the episode just WTF-ing in a half Flat "What.", half this-is-hilarious sort of way.

I'm so disappointed that he didn't get to keep his awesome unicorn horn powers, because I totally would have kept watching for the pure narminess of that. And I really wanted to see him headbutt-stab someone with his horn, but that never happened...and probably never will happen unless the horn returns after he levels up a bit and gets a new armor design.

I don't have a good reason for disliking Wakana but I'm kind of tired of her personality type. I could grow to like her, but I don't really know whether this show is going to have good character development or not.

With their seemingly all-female meido minion force, they've already surpassed my maid-quota for the week.

...Are you really allowed to just buy a public school? Or is this just some weird Japanese thing, and all schools are actually privately owned?

I'm pretty certain the horn is supposed to make him look like an oni

So i'm probably just going to be watching this for the cool designs of the Mini-Mecha and Monster of the Week and the so-far-awesome action scenes. The protagonist (Alma? Really?) earns points for not being completely generic but the angsty brooding misunderstood type that all the women fall in love with anyways isn't exactly something i like watching. Oh, and he's superpowered for no reason. Yay.

On the other hand, i'm getting flashes of Demonbane. It tto has the young heiress named Ruri who employs an army of Ninja Maid types and keeps a Battle Butler who honestly seems like the show's best character as her right-hand man. And nothing that reminds me of Demonbane can be too bad.

Still not taking anything resembling a liking to Alma there. The Oni statue is more likeable than him. Designated Protagonist Syndrome rearing its ugly head again?

[up] I don't get why people think the butler is a more interesting fella. I'm not particularly interested in any of the characters as of yet.

Besides, awesome fight scenes! I'll be seeing how things play out.

The characters are all stock types so far. There hasn't been much focus on developing them yet

They're stock types that we were all over in the 80's and 90's (especially in the 90's). Maybe we need to put ourselves in that mindset once again before watching.

[up][up][up] Well, he's a butler. This immediatly suggests several character traits that he already shows: Loyal, polite and refined for example. He's also quite protective of his lady Ruri. And he, y'now, rides around in a Transformeable Mini-Mecha to fight Giant Stone Monsters from Classical Mythology.

Alma there has brooded, done the traditional Shōnen powerup sequence, brooded, caused the two heroines to fall for him already and brooded about his Superpowered Evil Side. Okay, he had a Pet the Dog moment and had an amusing reaction to Ruri's appearance but that was in the end credits.

Even Kagami's battle sequence was more exciting. Alma effortlessly crushes the first monster and then one-shots the One-Winged Angel form via Attack Its Weakpoint. Kagami struggles against it and trades blows with a rocket launcher and Laser Blade and both of them end up losing an arm.

All i'm saying is i'd much rather watch Kagami then Alma. Indeed, with him at the lead it looks like it's going to be a Cliché Storm.

Is he really named "Alma"? Because I have a feeling its "Arma", which means "weapon".

I think it's a little too early to try throwing this under the bus, after all, it shares a writer with Speed Grapher. There are several very uncomfortable questions about the setting which haven't been addressed yet that can very quickly turn this plot on its ear.

[up][up][up] When you put it that way... nah, I'm okay with how things are. Because cool fight scenes.

[up][up][up][up] At least the main character isn't Kratos.

So...is this based on any manga or novel?

If it is...does the Battle Butler get any better than just piloting an incredibly weak mecha?

Meh, My standards are probably some of the loosest on this forum.

Raw for the 2nd episode is out.

It's hard to place this show.

If it does well, though, I think it will be an example of Playing Tropes Dead Straight Is Not Bad

I like it. The newest battle felt something you would see in a high speed action game like Bayonetta.
I don't fight for good, and I don't fight for evil, I JUST FIGHT!

Not a bad episode. Plus, I always wondered what it would be like if a character in either a game or anime used emoticons as a power...and the action is really nicely animated.

As for Arma's "Dark and Troubled Past"....why exactly does he feel guilty for hurting people like he said he was in the first episode? The flashback this episode showed that those kids obviously had it coming, he should have been happy about his powers letting him fight back rather than fear it....pussy.

Lastly.........I like his Darkstone form much more. I like that large head-boner of his.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."
That was the 17 worst anime episode in the last 5 years.
