A Game of Gods: Infinities

• Universe:Borderlands. Time frame will be in-between the events of the Pre Sequel and 2, where he still looks human.
• Personality Wilhelm is a man who's stated life dream is to become a robot, and his personality reflects that, being very dry compared to his associates. He has a tendency to play the Deadpan Snarker when forced into more crazy or absurd situations. There is very little he won't do for a paycheck. His voice has also been permanently altered due to his cybernetics, giving him a very evil sounding robotic voice.
• Abilitys/Powers:
  • Cybernetic Augmentations: Wilhelm has a number of augmentations, including a robotic power fist that gives him extended power and reach with punches using his left hand (The fist springs forward when he throws it, then goes back), Cybernetic legs that enable him to fire his gun accurately while sprinting (They do not make him faster), and a shoulder cannon that functions as an emergency weapon, activating when his shields go down and firing small missile blasts.
  • Personal Shield: Standard issue in the Borderlands universe, these shields can absorb a limited amount of damage before going down and requiring time to recharge.
  • Guns: Wilhelm will be using a shotgun that fires acid bullets, an assault rifle that fires flaming bullets, a sniper rifle, and a revolver as a backup weapon.
  • Drones: Wilhelm has two drones named Saint and Wolf that he can deploy. Saint is a support focused drone, healing Wilhelm and his allies, while Wolf is attack focused, flying around and firing electric blasts at foes.

@Meanken: Hello, and thank you for taking an interest in our RP! Can I ask how you're intending to handle the ammo system?

@Troy Hmm....hadn't considered that. I'm assuming the random mooks that he'll probably have to gun down won't conveniently drop ammo like in the game, unless they happened to also be using a gun of the same type. That said, upgrades in game eventually enable you to be able to carry an extremely large amount of ammo.

Double checking on the wiki, he can carry up to 900 pistol rounds, 1260 assault rifle rounds, 220 shotgun rounds, and 132 sniper rounds. The in story explanation for being able to carry so much is that the ammo is stored digitally in what is called a Storage Deck, essentially a limited form of Hammerspace

So, unless he ends up getting into a LOT of gunfights, ammo shouldn't be too much of a concern unless he ends up relying on one gun too much, I'm hoping.

Plus he could just imagine up more ammo in the Tesseract right?

So that means if he ever did run out of ammo during a challenge, he'd be able to restock once it's done. Or when he dies.

• Personality: Altough he is a dumb hero, But he is also a well meaning person. El chapulin colorado "aka" Mexico's greatest superhero. Seriously he is like batman but cooler.
• Powers and Abilities:

While not possessing any superhuman abilities himself. Regardless of the circumstances or even if it doesn't makes any sense at all. He will appear at the cry of " now who could defend us?"

• Weapons and Equipment:
  • Chiquitolina pills: they are able to shrink him, like antman, for a limited time.
  • El chipote chillón◊ : This mighty weapon while almost identical to Thor's Mjolnir. It's able to, comically, knock out anyone( and I mean anyone, even cosmic beings)
  • " Chicharra paralizadora" ◊a honk able to paralyze anyone( yes even gods) with one use and return to normal with two.

• Origin: Completely veiled in mystery, why would a man dress himself like a grasshopper to fight crime? Who cares it's awesome

Personality: He's a little bit dry and pasty, there's no doubt, a bit on the colorless side. But that's alright; not everything needs to be alive with personality...or alive at all!

Powers and abilities:

• Highly maleable: this guy can smear himself out to ridiculous proportions. When there's none left, just dip back into his container

• Seperable: He doesn't need to be kept in one single piece of substance; he can split apart as much as he needs!

• From a single cell: Ben-Gay doesn't die, he just gets absorbed into the skin. Where he waits.

• The amazing power of healing all joint and muscle pain, with only a side effect of discomfort!

Gotta warn you, I think Sayaka had better look out. She's about to get replaced as the group's main healer.

• Name: Miyako Arima
• Appearance: Here.◊ Or here.◊ Or here.◊
• Universe: HanaNoMiyako
• Personality: At first glance, Miyako seems bookish, unemotional, overly serious and just generally like the most boring 16-year-old there's ever been - by design. Miyako, after having spent some remarkably stressful time fighting pretty much everything, decided to strive to be as absolutely normal and unnoticeable as possible. It hasn't really worked out thus far, but she keeps trying.
  
  Otherwise, she's generally cheerful and while still a bit serious, significantly less so. Basically, she's a genuinely happy and bright person, when she feels like it. She enjoys messing with people's heads, playing tricks, martial arts, and spending time with her friends... okay, so it's more like friend, singular. She sort of dislikes stereotypically 'girly' things like jewelry, fashion, and stuffed toys, but it's more out of a feeling of incongruity than actual distaste.
  
  The fastest way to get Miyako angry is to hurt those she cares about.
  
  Miyako has a large well of patience and self control, once remaining completely still for nearly an hour in an uncomfortable position... all just to mess with her friend. On the other hand, that patience is only for long periods of waiting; she tends to lose her temper quite quickly when people annoy her. She also massively overreacts to any screw-ups she makes.
  
  Oddly, many of her memories of anything prior to the last few years of her life are fuzzy, faint, or even entirely missing. For instance, she can barely remember anything about her beloved brother (Well, adopted cousin, but that's where things get mildly complicated and entirely irrelevant) beyond bits of his appearance and the fact that he disappeared five years ago. Even his name (Shiki) is forgotten. As a side note, Miyako is very bitter about her 'brother' leaving and determined to find him. She also blames 'the witch' (that is, Shiki's girlfriend Arcueid, not that Miyako knows her name) for Shiki's disappearance, which isn't really wrong, but it's not exactly right, either.
  
  Miyako is a huge fan of fighting games, old kung-fu movies, giant mecha anime, historical dramas, and sentai shows, and distressingly prone to quoting them.
  
  Also, she really likes Chinese food (especially dumplings and mapo tofu, the spicier the better) and is fairly competent at cooking it.
  
  Once she actually gets going in a fight, she gets pretty bloodthirsty, and absolutely does not give up. She might avoid starting a fight she doesn't think she can win, but once the fight starts Miyako will keep fighting until she wins or she dies, and she will destroy herself trying if it comes to that.
  
  Furiously independent.

• Abilities/Powers:
  • Demon Blood: Miyako's demonic heritage grants her supernatural strength despite her apparent lack of muscle and general scrawniness, easily on the level of pro boxers, and with effort, at least twice as strong. At one point she shatters a sword in one blow, although it's never really clarified whether or not it's an actual steel sword or something to the effect of a plastic replica. In addition, Miyako is faster than a normal human, to an unclear but not quite superhuman extent, and her reflexes and reaction times are equally fast. However, she is no more resilient than a normal human. Kinda last-minute-y edit because I found something out after posting this: Being a half-breed also gives Miyako magic resistance above that of an ordinary human, weakening the effects of any spell cast on her and outright nullifying weaker spells.

  • Martial Arts: Miyako is technically a practitioner of Bajiquan, but only about half of what she practices is actual Bajiquan. The other half consists of stuff she made up out of nowhere, stuff she copied from video games/movies, a sprinkle of kung-fu, and what are never explicitly referred to as, but are (considering who her teacher was) almost definitely Nanaya demon hunting techniques. That last one is fairly important.
    Notable abilities she's shown that result from this are:
    • Sensou: Translating to 'Flash Run', it is a Nanaya technique that allows the user to cross short distances so fast they appear to teleport. It's never explicitly stated in-canon to be Sensou, but what else would it be? I don't think there are Flash Steps in Bajiquan.

    • Fierce Tiger Forcibly Climbs a Mountain: Miyako knowing this one is a bit suspect, given that it's one of Li Shuwen's Noble Phantasms, but on the other hand, she definitely does use it, and also it's apparently an exaggerated version of an actual real-life Bajiquan thing, but I wouldn't know. Anyway, this mouthful of a technique consist of a series of harsh blows meant to deal as much physical damage as possible, and in the right hands is also capable of bringing down sturdy walls and doors. That's about all there is to it. It should also be noted that Miyako hasn't entirely mastered this, so it's far from as strong as it could be and she tends to knock herself off her feet when she uses this, from sheer force of impact. Or something. at least, that's the only reason I can think of for the way she just randomly ends up blown backwards after using this.

    • Panda-Style Eight Divinations Fist: Basically, elbowing someone so hard they're sent flying while using chi so that most of the damage hits their internal organs, merely bruising the skin.

Finally thought up a good person for this, and honestly, I'm kinda annoyed I did not think of him sooner. I'm fully aware I'll probably have to wait till the end of the current challenge to get in on this, perfectly fine with that.

• Name:Samuel "Jetstream" Rodrigues
• Appearance:Here◊
• Universe:Metal Gear Rising, after his death
• Personality::Sam is a rather cocky swordsman, fully confident in his own ability's and always ready to put them to the test against any worthy opponents. As a result of this, Sam does not approve of attacking opponents when they have no chance to defend themselves, such as stabbing them in the back. Outside of combat, Sam is a laid back guy, always ready to crack a joke along with his troll like grin.
• Ability's/Equipment
  • Murasama HF Blade:Sam's primary weapon is a Murasama sword, passed down through his family. Sam has had this blade modified and turned into an HF blade, a type of sword that has been reinforced with advanced metals and which has its cutting power increased by a significant amount. As the power of any given HF blade is dependent on the quality of the sword before the process begins, Sam's sword stands as an exceptionally powerful model.
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: Sam uses a form of sword fighting who's defining move is the ability to swiftly draw their blade with incredible speed, with the goal of finishing the fight with one strike. Sam has supplemented this style with his own modified sword sheath, which he has modified with a gun trigger that enables him to fire his sword out of the sheath much faster then any human would normally be able to. This, combined with his HF blade, can enable him to cut through even the most advanced armor and cleanly slice off limbs.
  • Body Armor: Sam's combat suit is designed to help him even the playing field with the cyborgs that he commonly fights against, and thus is designed to help him be able to withstand and block blows from them without causing his arm to shatter. This also helps him use his sword sheaths trigger without breaking his arm into a bunch of pieces. It is not terribly good at defending against attacks on its own, being a leather type material.
  • Cybernetic Arm:As a result of his defeat at the hands of Armstrong, Sam was forced to replace his right arm with a cybernetic replacement. it has the usual benefits one would expect, being stronger then a normal arm, being much harder to damage due to being metal, and so on.

Raiden might work. I find it funny however that this will end up being the third character I play with a split personality if he works out.

• Universe:Metal Gear Rising, just after the defeat of Armstrong
• Personality: Raiden is usually a perfectly reasonable guy in his day to day life, being a snarky cyborg who is a big movie nerd with some...questionable ideas about what a disguise is. But whatever you do, don't wake up "Jack"
• Abilitys/Equipment
  • Cybernetic Body:Raiden has long since had 99% of his body replaced by a cybernetic replacement. About the only things still organic is his brain and his remaining eye. This body is highly resistant to damage. Small arms fire is virtually worthless against it, and his armor has been shown to be capable of withstanding tons of punishment. This body also has pain suppressing nano-machines that cause him to not feel any kind of pain from injures.
  • HUD:Also built into the armor is a standard HUD system he can view at any time. This system can show him a map of the local area and give him updates on the status of his armor
  • CODEC: Also built into the armor is a hands free radio system that Raiden can use to communicate with his allies (Although habit dictates that he usually put two fingers up to his ear when he speaks on it anyway, despite that not being necessary.) This system does not require him to physically speak, as the system can pick up his thoughts and transmit them, and it gives no signs to other people nearby that he is using it unless he does the finger thing
  • Enhanced Reflexes:Raiden, due to his cybernetics (sensing a theme?), can temporarily slow don his perception of time, enabling him to react quicker to enemy attacks and strike faster and harder. However, this is limited due to it being a drain on his body's power cells. For convenience sake (And because I doubt he's gonna find any fellow cyborgs to chop up to absorb their energy), I will say that they slowly recharge over time. Slowly being the key word. Also, as the power source used in these cells is stated to be electrolytes, it also may recharge faster if Raiden eats. I'll leave that to GM discretion, however.
  • Jack the Ripper:Due to his time fighting as a child solder, Raiden developed a murderous alter ego known only by his nickname, "Jack the Ripper". This serves as a super powered evil mode that pushes his body to it's limits. In this mode, he hits harder, moves faster, and disables his pain suppressing nano-machines, as the pain helps him fight better in this mode. He can activate it for short bursts (a few seconds at max) at the cost of draining his energy reserves. However, when in mortal danger, he can access this mode without having to worry about energy (At the risk of severe burnout when he's done, just to keep it balanced)
  • HF Blade:Raiden's primary weapon is a HF (high frequency) blade. These swords, created due to the need to invent a weapon capable of doing more then scratch damage to cyborgs, are much stronger then your average blade, as they work by giving off small, almost unnoticeable vibrations that greatly increase its cutting power, enabling him to slice almost anything apart with enough effort. Raiden uses a mass produced variant of the weapon, but he also processes a much stronger version taken from his rival, Sam. However, he does not use this variant unless he is forced to.
  • Ninja Run:Raiden is capable of moving rapidly at high speeds (Not sure exactly how fast, but his max speed seems to cap out at about slightly slowed then a speeding train, based on cut scenes). When he does this, his feet give off a blue shimmer effect with every step he takes. He is also capable of using this speed to quickly run up and down walls and jump large distances.

As usual, I am open to needed nerfs and such. I may even have a perfect explanation for some of them that doesn't require interference from the local space gods, depending on what the nerfs are.

Hah. I know this feeling.

I was considering signing up Twilight Sparkle as one of my characters and then saw the character page for Sifuri.

Oh, she's been gone from the games for years.

Technically, Bindle has not been around for literally forever, which would leave the slot open, but Sifuri is closed anyway, which makes the slot closed. Fortune.

Speaking of closed (and I know we should have mentioned this way sooner) we don't have much space for new characters at the moment, being one challenge from Endgame. I realize this is really sudden, so I'm not making this a complete 'no' yet - but as things stand, there won't be much for new characters to actually do. Season Three would be a much safer bet, when it rolls around.

This is entirely my fault for not telling you guys. Please vent frustration and/or anger into this conveniently-placed punching bag. Seriously, really sorry.

Ah, ok. No problem, if you guys are only one challenge away from the end, then I can just wait for S3.
