Live Performance Ideas You're Sure Only You Would Like:

It's easy, mmkay?
A Les Mis style operatic musical about deranged fangirls of a Show Within a Show Les Mis style operatic musical that we, the audience, never see.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

[up] Would elements of it parody Les Mis?
It's easy, mmkay?
Most certainly.

[up] Then why do you think that only you would watch it? I most certainly would.

Musical idea I think only I would like: A musical about the progressive era (Late 1800s/only 1900s) that satirized many facets of the time period.
It's easy, mmkay?
Must admit that my inspiration for this idea was how this video version of One Day More has one chorus (visible at 2:28) that appears to be made of Les Mis fangirls. I mean, it's probably just the generic chorus costume, but the looks on their faces, and their shirts, just make them look like they'd be hanging out on forums screaming about ships.

The Final ECW Champion
A professional wrestling company from the Caribbean who becomes at least as notable as CMLL or Ring Of Honor, then pours talent into WWE/Dragon's Gate so that we can see a real Jamaican wrestler, not an African with a fake accent. No disrespect to the talented Kofi, but to the bookers who thought Americans were too dumb to know about Ghana.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack

A stage version of the South Park movie with new songs added, like the Beauty and the Beast Broadway adaption.

AND THE SOUTH PARK KIDS ARE PLAYED BY ACTUAL KIDS

Actual kids saying naughty words on stage? Hell yeah.

[up] WHY DO YOU THINK NO ONE WOULD LIKE THIS?! I've been thinking of the exact same thing for years, only not with actual kids, but that would be even cooler!

It's not easy to convince people to pay Broadway ticket prices for something they THINK they already own on DVD.

Another idea:

ANY musical composed/written by Weird Al, Jonathon Coulton, and Randy Newman.

Even if it's just a jukebox musical made up of their older songs.

A musical about the Shubert brothers that plays them as the manipulative, scheming, jerkasses they were. With Zeigfeld and other early 20th century theatre producers. Requirement is that it must NOT a jukebox musical using songs from shows the Shuberts produced— it didn't work for LoveMusik (and Kurt Weill/Lotte Lenya have way more name recognition), it won't work for this.

Idea came from reading the excellent biography The Boys from Syracuse. Aside from the fact that the Shubert Organization is still active in producing today and would never allow the project, I highly doubt there's much of an audience for it. Except me (and the guy who wrote the biography probably).

intellectual rapist
a musical adapted from my immortal
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?

[up] That would be a terrible idea... -runs of to write libretto-
Dat Troper
I think the Uglies series could be loosely adapted into a musical, somehow.

It's easy, mmkay?
"I Wanna Be" from Starship reminds me of that.

Three-Puppet Saluter
This is actually an idea held by a close friend, but anyway, she wants to do a musical of 1984. The weird part is that when she goes into depth about her idea, I'm perversely intrigued.

Thunder, Perfect Mind
A microtonal opera about cannibalism, with instrumentation provided by a free jazz ensemble.

an absurdist play adapted from episode 25 and 26 of Neon Genesis Evangelion

Not a full show idea, just a song idea:

It starts out as an "I Am" Song / "I Want" Song with a character singing about how they're going to take on the world, because they're different from everyone else, concluding with "I'm different, I'm better, and everyone will remember me!"

We then cut to another character. They have different dreams, but they ultimately conclude in the same way. We then get more, shorter verses, revealing that everyone else thinks exactly the same way. We finally end on "I'm different, I'm better, and everyone will remember meeeeeeeeee!" as a Distant Crowd Song including all the characters and extras in the cast.

30 Watts of Madness
I once conceived of a stage play that would be lit only by laptops, cell phones and a lighter.

Otherwise known as "an almost impossibly low level of light"
"Blundering!" - Eye Weekly
Three-Puppet Saluter
Maybe if the set is a Hacker Cave...
Hail Martin Septim!
Arrested Development: The Musical.

A show with no tenors.
It's easy, mmkay?
[up] I could like that.

Any baritones? (Not required for me to enjoy it, just for me to act in it.)
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...
Yeah, the show would consist entirely of baritones and basses.
It's easy, mmkay?
No women? Cuz, I mean, I'm not a woman, but I do like them.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...
