I was reviewing Marq FJA's Post, and wondered why we haven't done this yet.

Since we don't want to keep this TRS open any longer than it should. I'm going to Split that off into a new thread in Trope Talk.

EDIT: The new thread is Here.

Added a new option that's more inline with what was proposed in the beginning.

Question: What exactly is Busty Babe Fanservice? I didn't see a definition.

Bumpage for more votes but it's looking pretty one side right now.

Ok well the crowner been open for a while now and it seems pretty one-sided. So perhaps we can act on it now.

Right, well the first thing to do is go through the examples on the pages, and then the wiks.

-Philip K. Dick
Well on the trope page a good 90% of examples have to be cut.

Well, at least half of that is gushing about breasts and the wiks are probably worse. There was going to need to be a lot of clean up anyway. Let's fire up the chainsaws.

-Philip K. Dick
Alright, well I just cut all of the non western superhero stuff, and all the "so and so has big breasts". The examples just need to be organized by justifications, lampshadings and played for laughs.

60 shimaspawn, Fri, 8th Jul '11 7:37:42 PM from Here and Now Relationship Status: In your bunk
[up] We don't actually organize like that because it tends to make things get nattery quickly.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

-Philip K. Dick
[up] Really? because Heroic Build is organized that way. Well, regardless I'll just put a disclaimer in the description.

Alright the disclaimers have been added. Now, do we need the playings with page?

◥▶◀◤
[up]Playing withs help to understand tropes and how they are used beyond just sating X is a trope so yes.

Also This really need a a re-name. Most Common Super Power is highly misleading and unclear. Something like Powers Equal Breast Size would be much better.

Ps. Since when was this western comics only? I see examples on anime pages all the time.

[up] Way to thread hop. The anime examples were misuse. They lacked the connotations of the trope in aggregate and were voted into deletion.

[up]I'd argue that this trope is just as common in anime if not more common than it is in western comics. We really shouldn't have exclusive tropes unless it is impossible for it to exist outside of a genre and this isn't that case.

[up] It's not universal in anime. These is a far greater range of chest sizes available to people with superpowers in anime than there is in Western comics. This is only a trope in aggregate. Your position has been argued. There was a crowner. It lost. We are now in the process of cleaning the wiks.

We have a lot of tropes that can't exist outside of their genres. This is not one of them. This one is in Western Comics, Film, Webcomics, Literature, Table Top Games... It's just limited to Western Superheroes. That's not so much a genre as a character type.

If it's not exclusive to comics in those then I still don't see why anime got removed, also I still say the name is misleading and need a rename.

Also there are tons of non-Dc/Marvel-comics where the girl with powers doesn't have massive breasts, none-do.

Also my position got argued while I wasn't looking so I'm bringing the issue back up. This issue basically passed under cover of night due to huge fuss over Stock Phrases.

Also if an anime has western style heroes wouldn't that count, or must it be western-made?

[up] What? The trope isn't exclusive to western comics, it's exclusive to the western superhero genre. The western genre includes works outside of dc/marvel, like Empowered and Spinnerette, and yes works like Tiger & Bunny and the Witchblade anime also are included. I pointed out these two series in the first page, so please go through the thread.

Also as far as a rename goes, it's not happening, the inbounds as too high and there was already a thread about it

69 shimaspawn, Sun, 10th Jul '11 12:09:30 PM from Here and Now Relationship Status: In your bunk
[up][up] Yes, if it has Western style superheroes it counts, but we also aren't putting straight examples on the page. Just lampshades and played withs and the like. The animes with Western Style heroes haven't played with the trope. They just play it straight and thus aren't listed.

I think this is a case were a trope evolved in it's meaning and it was forced to de-evolve.

Also again the name is very unclear and deceiving.(which is more my point.)

We just did this. Your side lost. Let's move on and clean the wiks.

Unless we change this name though to indicate its Comic specific then the misuse is never going to stop. Super Powers are everywhere.

edited 10th Jul '11 7:14:30 PM by Raso

This trope isn't limited to comics. That's been said repeatedly.

Cure Candy
Its not limited to Super Powers the entire list that your cleaning up is about superpowers.... its limited to the comic interpretation of Super Heroes.

And I still say we should YKTTW a broader trope for everyone else.

Why are you including Tiger & Bunny anyway? Blue Rose (She uses padding...) and Dragon Kid dont have a rack the Producer of Hero TV has bigger breasts.

Western Super Hero Artists Prefer Large Breasts.

Clean and to the point but not concise, But it's all I could think of.
