Holee crap...that's much worse than something like Starforce...
Still, Thorn, I think you misunderstand something: you can do more than one playthrough, you just can't do a clean playthrough...
At least something like this can't happen on PC...I think...

Give me cute or give me...something?While I agree that's a really dumb move, there's something in the quoted article that's bugging me:
...Seriously, Capcom?
UN JOUR JE SERAI DE RETOUR PRÈS DE TOI^^^It won't happen on PC: Steam has a policy against reselling your account, the physical games market is being replaced by Digital Distribution, EA already has a "no resale" policy in place and Good Old Games would never think of it.
This is dumb, really, but considering what some of you guys have said about Capcom, I can't say I'm entirely surprised.

It's more someone purchasing something for ten grand at a garage sale that bugs me.
Some of us who don't have much money to spare like buying used games.
This is bullshit.
However game developers and especially publishers will try their best to enforce something that's closest to a situation where you have to pay each time you want to play.
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.I know video game profits are supposed to dwarf PC game profits, but stuff like this is EXACTLY why I barely play any console games anymore.
Planned generational obsolescence plus disfavoring used products = 'Buy this game at top price while it's brand new, or miss out on the experience entirely.' No thank you, sirs, I will enjoy my 50% off Steam sales and being able to uninstall, reinstall and play a game without onerous restrictions. In fact, I may even buy some classic Sega games on Steam, even though I could emulate them for free. Why? CONVENIENCE.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Wait what?
Ok I cant see anyone ever buying this game if you cant start a new game on it ever. (I buy a game I play it at least 3 times...)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Ow, my inner LPer just died a little.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.
As I said about limited install thing years ago (that was about Spore).
"Take Diablo II, for example. I keep it on my shelf, I occasionally install and replay it because it's all time videogame classics. However, EA thinks no one would want to return to their product from time to time. If anything, that says a lot about what they themselves think about the quality of videogames they make."

I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.Okay, while I do wish people would buy used games less (partly because the devs don't get money that way, partly because Gamestop has too much of a monopoly on them), this is a dick move of suicidal proportions.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyFrom what I've heard about this game — that it's a mode from RE 4 and 5 that's been remixed into its own game on the 3DS — it doesn't really have a "plot" and levels can be replayed over and over. You can indeed play a new game at any time...
But it will always be a New Game Plus. You can't ever reset it, unlock things on your own, do a proper LP of it, or whatever. The satisfaction of playing through the game from the beginning is only available to the first owner, barring breaking the chip open and flashing the EEPROM to zero.
What the hell, Capcom?
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit. What the hell, Capcom!?
This is a dick move that is comparable to the Starforce copy protection system. I'm sorry, Capcom, but you have lost my support!
Shutdown sequence initiated. Can anybody answer me on whether this will be in Mega Man Legends 3? Because if so that's two sales they've lost from me.
No one knows but there is a possibility.
This game simply isn't going to sell. Capcom has crossed the line here and this is coming from someone who doesn't mind moderate DRM that much.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. So, lending to a friend's out of the question, as is starting a clean playthrough?
Nice job, Crapcom. What a shitty company you've become in recent years. Not localizing AAI 2, DRM on PS 3 games (which bit you in the ass hard when PSN went down), and now this.
Nice job trying to take away the consumer's natural right to do whatever the fuck they want with the game that they bought with their hard-earned money. This doesn't just fuck over used game buyers, no no. This fucks over everyone who buys your game.
Preorder canceled. Fuck this shit. I'm not paying $40 for a game I can only play through once.
360 Gamertag: Electivirus. 3DS friend code: 5412-9983-8497. PSN ID: Electivirus. PM me if you add me on any.Okay, I think everyone is overreacting a tad on this one. I don't agree with what they're doing, but I understand WHY they're doing it. It's not "one playthrough." It just saves your high scores and unlocks. There's no storyline or levels that you can't play. I think there are definitely better ways to go around it- bonuses with new copies, extra content, ect. Going the negative route is the wrong way, but I still think people are overreacting about this.
My only goal in life is to ensure that Mousa dies of a stress-induced heart attack by the age of 23. READ THISEven so, I'm sure as hell not supporting a practice like this.

I think everyone is underreacting, this is showing Capcom doesn't give two shits about its customers, so why should we care about them?
No AA 2, What they did to Devil May Cry, no Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, this crap, DLC out the wazoo. I cant stand Capcom anymore.

^^^People don't like this because it prevents a Let's Play of it from being done, you can't do multiple clean playthroughs and it reinforces the idea that games are simply disposable.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelAfter they decided not to localize AAI 2, the odds of me buying something from them again were tiny, but now they're nonexistent.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyNot liking this move nor do I want to become a bitter shithead.

Well, crap o-o I was planning to buy mercenaries. Not anymore then xD
As some of you may or may not know, alot of companies have been getting in some hissy fits over used gaming, thinking its killing revenue. Peter Molyneux has said its worse than piracy. EA has been making it where you need a code to play online, or you gotta pay, or using DLC, etc.
http://dvice.com/archives/2011/06/capcom-tries-to.php
This takes the cake however. What the hell Capcom? What. The. Hell?
Only one save and one playthrough allowed? Its like they are TRYING to piss off gamers!
